Hey Everyone,
I am getting super excited.

Dylan,
I would be up for any evening this week through saturday. Let me know what works best for you.

Everyone i just found out some very important info about the Visas needed for Egypt and Turkey. I received my applications for the Visas and found out that your passport must be valid at least 6months after departing the country. I am off to the passport office tomorrow to get my passport renewed so i can get it back and get my Visas before we go. Hope this helps you guys out. Have a great day!

Ashley

Hey Manisha, you're from outside SF? I'm so envious, I love the Bay Area. I go to UC-Riverside, which is about halfway between LA and Palm Springs. Which city are you from? I know lots of people from NorCal.

Hi

Good to see new people joining all the time. I have officially joined our facebook group and feel free to add me as a friend. My name is Ashley Fox. Facebook is such a great little tool.

So has anyone come to a conclusion as to whether they are taking a suitcase and backpack or just one? I am still deciding what exactly I am wanting to take. I think i may have to take both so that i can use the backpack to fill with stuff i will get over there because i am sure there will be some purchases. Anywho let me know your thoughts on this. Thanks

Allo everybody!!! Wow, I don't get on the net for 2 days and there's so many posts to read!!

Steve- Jac & I fly into London on 25 June and are staying at the Royal National till we depart. We're doing the Check Out London tour in that time. When are you flying out?

Ashley- I'm gonna take a carry on bag that I can collapse down to put in my suitcase and then fill with treasures, booty and tacky souvenirs along the way Smiler Plus just a messenger bag thing as my day pack. I've been looking at PacSafe stuff and will probably buy one of those.

Manisha- As for $$$, I'm going to mostly rely on electronic funds coz from what I understand pounds are for UK, Euro's are for most of Europe and then there are the other local currencies for Egypt and Turkey etc.

Stay in touch everyone! And thanks for setting up the f/b group, Victoria

Jo

Hey, everybody. For luggage, I think I'm going to go with a large suitcase and just a messanger bag to keep on me. I think I'm a light packer, so I'm hoping I won't need too much space.

As for money, I think I'm going to take a tiny bit in Pounds to begin with, since we're only in London for a day before we start the tour. Then I'm going to periodically take out Euros in increments of about 200 to avoid bank fees from lots of little spending using a credit or debit card, and then when we get back to London, I'll take out a large amount of British Pounds. So, in short, I'm using Euros ha ha.
