Hey Chris welcome to the trip! Its good to see this board is actually filling up now! Most of the big attractions in London are pretty close together and you can get to pretty much everything by the Tube which is quick and simple, but if you've only got a day the bus tours are great cause they take you everywhere and give you a really cool history of the city. They work on a hop on hop off basis too which is pretty cool.

Vanessa I must warn you that Bath is like a 3 hour bus ride away from London and to tell you the truth I didn't find it all that exciting. It cost £10 to get in and I'm pretty sure we are going to see cooler sites actually in Rome. If your keen on seeing it check out www.nationalexpress.co.uk or www.megabus.co.uk. These companies both do buses there and you can get them really cheap (sometimes £1)

I've actually never been to Stonehenge so can't offer advice on that one.

Hope that helps guys. London is pretty amazing, you can spend weeks discovering the place so try and pick out what you want to see before you get here, oh and all the museums and galleries are free which is pretty sweet.

Ben

Hey Guys
I've heard lots about Stonehenge but most of my friends have all said that you have to pay to get in and its all roped off now, you can't touch anything and you can see as much from beside the bus for free.

I think that Leigh & I are just going to do the red bus thing on the Monday before the tour, we are also in London for a couple of nights after contiki, so what we don't see before contiki we can try and fit in after.

Hey guys...well its 8 weeks for me coz we leave on th 7th Aug. Leigh & I are going to Scotland for 10 days first. We are doing a Haggis 5 day tour and then staying with my family in Aberdeen for 5days. Can't wait to see them. So its a little longer for you guys if your leaving closer to our tour date. Either way its going to be here in no time.
I've been told that we don't need to get visa's for Turkey it all happens on the boarder before we go through...? Might check again with my Travel Agent.

Bout Moulin Rouge...Yes I would still love to go, although I've had a few people say that the dinner and show at Nouvelle Eve is so much fun coz its the first optional with all your tour mates. Great opportunity to get to know each other...! So I don't know what the "right" thing to do is. What do you reckon Vanessa...?

Hey Vanessa, me again
I've been on the net checking out prices for the MR show, not sure how much you wanted to spend I have seen tickets for diner & show for about 145 Euro. Which is double the price of the Contiki optional at only 70 Euro...! Still dont know what we should do...!

I'm getting the visas ahead of time cause I don't want to be embarrassed if I hold up the bus at the borders lol, plus I live in NY so its pretty easy for me to get them. They told me you can get both the Turkey and the Egypt visa when we get there, but I would rather get it all done now.

I guess it would be rude to go to Moulin Rogue if it was just the three of us lol. I guess if there was more people on here talking and it was a group of us going it would be better, plus that 145 could be used at the Monte Carlo Big Grin

I was wondering what people where doing about there Visa, the travel agent has advised me that they all can be obtained at the border. i know the Turkish one is easy to get when i went there a few years ago all you do at the airport or border is pay 20 USD and they stamp your passport and that's it. Still deciding with the Egyptian one.

looking forward to the trip as i am 35 unfortunately making it my last contiki trip

Hey Rick
Leigh & I are planning on getting our visa's at the border, I've read its all pretty straight forward, so happy to wait til we get there.
Leigh is wrapped there is someone else in their 30's Leigh will be 29 just before we leave so he was wrapped to hear you're 35 Rick...! But as they say age is nothing to worry bout its all what you make of it....!
