I am also planning my Ultimate European tour next year jun/july and would love to meet some people doing the same as I am going solo. I am also thinking of staying in england after the tour to work a bit and travel some more around europe and places I havent been before.

Hello all, I am 27 from Australia (SA) travelling alone I have been planning on doing this tour for a couple of years now and have finally got my cash together for it. This will be my 3rd Contiki trip but 5th tour as I did 3 when I was in the US in 2004. I'm planning on doing the Egypt Option and looking to do the tour somewhere in June/July/August also have been looking at doing something around Great Britain at the same time potentially the 15 day Great Britain & Southern Ireland but will have to wait and see if dates match up and see the total cost before committing to the second tour as well as making sure I can get all the time off of work.

I'm planning on going for the Greek island option too.

Savings are coming along ok, still got a while to get all the funds together though. I am almost 1/2 way to my goal of 25k (NZD). That's for everything flights, tour cost, spending money and hopefully some left so i can stay in Europe for an extra week or 2 after the tour.

Hey everyone, I've been keeping an eye on this thread for a little while now, thought I'd post up now that it looks for certain that I'll be going. I'm one of the May people, I've got 7 weeks annual leave from work from 10 May-28 June , so I'm really hoping once the dates are released (October 15 is it??), there'll be similar dates to this past year, otherwise I'm gonna have to go and get my annual leave changed to coincide with it. I'm also contemplating getting some additional leave without pay to go to any areas we skip that I really wanna see, that's not definite yet though.

Anyway, I'm a 25 y.o. guy from Perth, I'm hoping some of the folk in this thread who are going in May will be on my tour, since at this stage it also looks like I'll be going it solo. I'm itching to book this thing, I've got the travel bug big time.

hi everyone, so good to see i am not the only one going solo really hope to meet you all on the same trip! i have been getting very excited and still 7 months to go..i am also hoping to do another tour after the ultimate european would definately love to see egypt, israel etc
hey explorer1146176 i think im only going to make the tour early june also as got a bit of a way to go with savings but will be good to finally book and confirm dates

Has anyone have experience with Contiki TOur before ? I am afraid of the pick up time from the city. I heard, sometimes the bus picks up at 5 or 7pm ;( Too early !!!My aim is really to see the city as much as I can. I dont mind go out late till late at nite, and share the taxi together to go back to Contiki Village. I really dont want to be stuck in the Village ;( Is anyone like me ?

Great to see so many people are already planning the UE trip and in May too. I was so excited when I stumbled across this thread.

My name is Amy, im 25 from Sydney Australia. Im planning this tour with the Egypt option for May next year.

I only received this years Contiki book just last week. Had the intention of doing a 3-4 week tour then found the UE plus Egypt tour. I’d never thought about going to Egypt before in all my life. Still not sure what got me hooked on it, but can’t wait to actually be there. Finished reading Dave’s travelogue last night, took me a couple of days to get through it but it completely sold me.

Will be great to talk with other tour buddies before going. Looking forward to seeing the dates for 2010!

Hi, I am 30 y.o. But I still can party, but I dont think I will party hard, and get drunk everynite ;( Is anyone about the same age with me ?

I would probbaly be sober and walk to the city a lot, try to get exposure to the city as much as possible
