Wow! It is awesome to see so many early birds!

I'm planning to do the UE with the Egypt option in May/June 2010. I was originally planning to go this year, but the money situation would have been tight and I thought it was worth it to save another year to make the experience that more enjoyable.

I've read Dave's travel log too and I'm a bit disappointed that Contiki seems to have cut out the skydiving location :/

What 'extras' are you all looking forward to?

Mabes - I haven't finished reading Dave's travelogue but there was a skydiving location that was cut out?! Aww man that would have been totally cool!

Aaron, yeah I might travel on after the tour if I have enough moolah... I'm already trying to save $20K and finding that hard enough haha. Yourself? I'd love to stay in London for a few extra days and maybe go to Belgium? I know someone there who always goes to massive dance parties and I want to go to one!

My savings are going ok - it would be better if I just didn't have to pay for my adv diploma. Hopefully when I am done at the end of the year, work will pay it back fingers crossed. Other than that - trying to save real hard.
I am aiming for about $150AU a day. What about everyone else?

I just read somewhere that the dates for 2010 get released in 2nd week of October. Not sure how right that is - but either way we haven't got that long! Getting a bit exciting. I hope some of us end up on the same trip

HoldTightLondon - Hi There, well im from Sydney as well... and I also really struggle to save money - must be something in the water..lol!! Im planning on leaving sydney early May, but nothings concrete yet.. what about you? Pre/Post travel tours - Jessigirl84 was looking into Topdeck tours, i did some research and they seem to be okay as well... Im looking forward to experiencing Ireland(im a big fan of alcohol ...lol)

I'm from Auckland, NZ. Also traveling solo, kind of nervous since I will probably be younger than a lot of the people on tour. However traveling is my job especially with people i dont know so i think i should fit in and get used to it pretty quickly. Sounds like a lot of people are budgeting 20k.. 5k more than what im doing, and probably more since mine is NZD. I hope i end up having enough, im also pretty keen to stay on for a week or two after the tour and do my own thing. Will have to see what i enjoy the most on contiki then go revisit it. It would be great to meet a bunch of people before going

Good to see so many people planning ahead. I'm planning on doing Ultimate European + Greek Islands around May/June too. Traveling alone and budgeting somewhere around 20 - 25k NZ dollars. I'm planning to spend an extra week or 2 in Europe after the tour doing my own thing. So excited cant wait!

I'm actually from the U.S... is anyone else from the states?
I'm planning on taking the greek islands option. I actually went to Egypt last year and I do not recommend going in summer. It was so unbearably hot that I found it difficult to fully enjoy myself.
As for traveling solo, I'm still a bit nervous because I'm a female, but I'm hoping to meet some people prior to going on the trip so that will help!

I guess it's really not that far away. I emailed contiki last week and the lady replied that the new brochure will be out about 15 October so great news.

Explorer - I am female too travelling on my own too for the very first time. I am actually going to the states before Europe - where abouts are you from - you might be able to give me some tips
Hopefuly we might end up on the same tour in Europe.

Char - It seems that way, but the cog rail ride is still there (which should be in the same city) so it is possible we could still do it! It would be awesome if a bunch of us went together. I'm also hopefully headed to London for a few days after the tour before I begin exploring Ireland and Scotland.

Explorer - I'm a 22 year old female from Canada (not the US but still North America ) and I'm a little worried about travelling alone too. If you want to send me a message later, we can exchange emails and chat a bit. Continental Airlines seems to be the cheapest way to fly to Europe so I'd be flying out of the states anyway if you want a travelling buddy!

nGGz - I'm really excited to try skydiving! The company apparently makes a video of your jump too! It seems like most of the last couple of years have been school and work so I'm budgeting to include most the extras Contiki offers. Glad to hear if my thrill-seeking takes me down, I'm not going alone I was really looking forward to the Egyptian desert day trip on camel, but it wasn't on the 2009 options. I'll have to keep my fingers crossed for October!
