Hi,
I'm doing New Zealand with Contiki in 2 months time and of course I'm not wasting any time on planning my next adventure!
I love the sound of this tour and am tempted of going with the Egypt option but I've already been there, the only reason I'd be doing it (apart from really wanting to go again and again) is because the trip includes a few things I didn't get to see when I went last year.
But if I decide to book this tour I will probably go for the Greek Island option because I've never been and always wanted to go (also never been to Europe before). Would probably want to book for August/September 2010 to give me time to save.
Will think more about it after I've been to NZ though....I'm getting way ahead of my self lol!

Anyone else out there Smiler

Hi Jessigirl84,

I just discovered this post, im also planning on doing the UE + Greece in May next year. Im extremely excited about it all, and a bit nervous because I'll be travelling solo for the first time.

Ive started reading Dave's Ultimate European Travelogue (http://connect.contiki.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/111105522/m/633104862), it’s a really good read so far, and its making me more even more excited.

Do you know when the dates for next year's tours will be released? What are the countries that you are most interested in visiting?

Aaron

Hi Aaron,

I think that the dates will be released in about October - I will be booking my tours at the Brisbane Travel Expo which I think is in October. I am looking at doing the tour around the 9 May - hopefully dates are similar to this years.

Where abouts are you located?

I am travelling solo too. I am most looking forward to Paris, Greece, Istanbul -- all of them - I think it's going to be an amazing trip

Hopefully we might end up on the same trip!

I am hanging out for the tour dates to be announced - Will you be choosing a guranteed departure date ?

Hi HoldTightLondon,

Glad to hear that you also doing the UE... I was planning on doing Greece option, but like you i was persuaded into doing egypt after Dave's travelogue (Better start stocking the Imodium!! LOL Wink ).

Where abouts are you located?

Hi Jessigirl84

Im also turning 25 later this year. Smiler

Lucky you!! America would be a great pre-tour destination, when are you leaving for the US? Im planning on travelling through Ireland and Scotland beforehand, but nothing in concrete yet - im waiting for next years tour dates to be released so i can start booking from there.

Guranteed departure date? Im not quite sure, more than likely i will. Are there pros and cons to doing so?

nGGz,

Awesome - Would be unreal if we got on the same tour.

I am leaving for the US on 11 April and spending about 4 weeks there until this tour in May. Then actually doing Ireland and Uk with a tour with Topdeck for 14 days then off to Japan so away for 3months in total.
Are you travelling through Ireland and Uk on your own - What are you thinking ? Yep I am waiting on next years dates too - I wish they would release them earlier for us organised people.

Well I guess if you get on a tour that isn't guaranteed and there isn't much interest it could get cancelled and you have to hang around in London until the next one. I am sure it will be ok though, I have been reading on here and this tour doesn't get cancelled very often.

Hi Jessigirl84 ,

Wow 3 months travelling!! Im jealous that your travelling for 3 months and that you doing Japan, Lucky you... My friends just came back from Japan, they said it was awesome, they fell in love with the culture, people and buzz.

Yes, I will be travelling alone through the UK - Ive got freinds living in london, so ill be scabbing some free accomodation with them... LOL Smiler .Im thinking about doing the UK travelling after the tour as my friends will be returning back to London from the World Cup at about the same time the tour will return, but i doubt ill make concrete plans for after the tour - just go with the flow.

Ive heard of Topdeck tours but havent looked into them... are they any good?

Guranteed departure date - I think i will now choose a Guranteed departure date, would suck if the tour got cancelled when you've arranged post tour travel...so your aiming to do a UE departing mid May right?

Hey Aaron,

Yep it's going to be a great holiday - only 37 weeks to go!!

I have heard great things about Japan as well so hopefully it won't be too hot in July though.

Sounds good to just see how it goes after the tour. Topdeck have a great tour check it out for 15 days which I am planning on doing after europe. Heard they are quite good.

Yep I am hopeing there will be a guranteed departure date around 10 May. So just have to hang out until October Frowner
I am on facebook if you want to find me and we can chat further on there.

Hi All,

Well I've worked out that, I'll probably be heading on the UE Adventure around this time too. Though I'm thinking of doing a UK trip first. Any suggestions on which tours I should look at?
