Hi Smiley!
We're on the same tour - yay
As an aussie you need 2 visas, one for Egypt and one for Turkey.
The one for Egypt I was told had to be done before leaving Australia (i did mine through my travel agent) and you also need one for Turkey. The turkey one you can get before leaving australia, but I've been told its just as easy (and cheaper) to get it at the border!
Because you're already in London, perhaps contact your agent back in Australia?
Feel free to contact me lloydychick@hotmail.com
Look forward to seeing you soon

Hey all,
Let me see if i get this right.

Turkey - Australian citizens or Australian Passport holders don't need to apply for a Turkish Visa we just rock up and purhase one at the boarder. That's the word from the embassy after i just applied for mine.

Romania - No visa is required but you do need to provide travel insurance, accommodation and travel documentation at the boarder. i just got off the phone with them now.
this is what the web page says about visa's 'According to the Decision of the Romanian Government No. 164/2006, starting with 1 January 2007 (the date of Romania’s accession to the European Union), the Australian and New-Zealander citizens will be exempted from obtaining short stay visas to enter Romania (visas for stays not longer than 90 days within 6 months, from the date of the first entry into Romania).'

I hope this helps.

Cheers

Dot

Hey!
I just finished my tour so I may be able to help you all out a little bit.

Egypt Visa you CAN get when you get to Egypt, quite a few people got their visa's when we got there, I don't remember if any Australians did, but a few girls from New Zealand did so it's no major drama.

Australians get their Turkish Visa at the boarder, If someone says to keep American dollars aside to pay for this visa - Don't stres - you can also pay in Euros.

Romania doesn't need a visa - come to think of it - I don't think Romania even had a boarder =P No, it does have a boarder but there was no need for Visa's. The eastern countries just have a very annoying system of having to get off the coach and getting your passport stamped - you get delayed for around 30 minutes depending on what they are doing. (Going into Turkey we had to unload the ENTIRE coach!)

just sent an email to the turkish embassy and had a look at their website and new zealanders do not need a visa for stays less than 90 days.
forgot to had that aussies do which is weird since both countries fought and died in turkey.
