I hope everyone had a great chrissie and you were all spoilt rotten! I got myself a brand spanking new sleeping bag to take along on our trip. Nice and cozy.

Question, I was trolling through other subjects and I am little concerned/confused about visas. Some people say that they are required at egypt and turkey and stuff but my travel agent assures me that i dont need any visas at all. Has anyone had a different response or know something i dont know?


Also, Andrek you have been to egypt. Do us chicks need to bring specific clothes for it. Obviously being the middle of summer most of our clothes would be singlets and shorts or whatever, in egypt do we need "neck to knee" type clothing to cover up?

I have never been in Egypt but from what I have read in travelogues and heard is that girls can go very comfortable in Egypt with shorts and stuff like that... the only thing suggested is that everyone should go in groups.

With regards to visas: Check with your embassy(it usually involves long annoying phone calls) about Turkey and Egypt. It is my understanding that for Americans, you can buy your visa at the Egypt airport. I am going to figure out the Turkey situation, but assume I will need it in advance.

I succummed, and have just finished reading Dave's travelogue. Wow! I felt really sad just finishing it. he wrote it really well and you feel like you have done the journey with him. I am also going onto prague after contiki finishes so that was also really informative as well. We dont do the romania bit that Dave did tho? I think we go through Serbia and belgrade instead?

I might contact Contiki direct and make sure about the visas, I figure if anyone is going to know it will be them.

Well, I guess, two more sleeps and we will be at least in travel year 2008! then... only 5 months after that! counting.... counting....

hey i know for myself as a canadian i need a visa for turkey and egypt to go along with my passport, but i depends on the country your passport is from... ask contiki and they will know, but definitely double check cause its best to have all paperwork done before you leave.

As for Suzy I talked to her after Christmas on msn, she said she was busy and such but she gave me her flight information so I can manage an arrive at the same time. I talked to Nick13 a few weeks ago but haven't seen her online in a while.

Brian also added me on msn but he was away when I was on. As for Pennie I think she is the one I talk to the most, she is also doing the countdown.
