Hi Miss M,

I am Pete in New York. I'm on the tour too, but I will be taking the Egypyt option. While you are hanging around Myknonos, I will be sun-soaked Egypt. Otherwise it is the same tour.

Feel free to drop me line at pternagy@yahoo.com

Just to add, I am going solo too, but this will by my fourth Contiki. We are going to have a blast. If you want me to calm your nerves, just let me know.

BTW, do think of it as being nervous, just think of it as excitement.

It's great to see that so many people are going on this tour.

But is anyone else taking the Egypt option?

Hi Pete!

It seems as though there are only four of us on this trip!

I think most people have booked the tour for the 8th of July or prior to 1 July...

Adam tells me there are 20 people who have booked! Where are these people !!! Confused

Lets hope there will be a few who will be taking the Egypt option with you Smiler

I thought I had booked the Egypt option but looks like I am going to be baking in Mykonos! wooo hoo!

Hi MissM again,

I've asked my travel agent to give me another update on how many people are currently booked on the tour. I will let you guys know when he gets back to me.

Also, he said he can only tell me how many aussies are booked on the tour and doesn't have access to bookings from other countries, so there's probably more than what he says.

Anyway, hope your all well and I can't wait to meet you guys in real life!

Adam

You win some, you lose some. As long as the tour is on, I will be happy enough.

Hey all,

I have a question. I am hoping you might be able to enlighten me.

What is with the food fund? How does it work? I have a whole heap of friends who have done contiki and have not heard of it.

Help!????

As I understand it, the food fund is the money that covers the food (funny enough) on the tours--the included breakfasts and dinners.

From what I have heard, Australians and New Zealanders have to pay the food fund--no choice in the matter. North Americans have it included in our tour price, I didn't realize that the concept even existed until my second tour as it is no listed as part of the price that I paid here in the States.

Yeah thats the thing... in the Contiki booklets this amount is not included in the price. The Travel agent actually told me. She said that I would need to make sure that I have about $1,000.00AUD when I arrive to give them. Im assuming they are the organisers, but will have to confirm.

My cousins did the 21day or 28day contiki last year and they have no idea about it. I have approached a couple of my friends and they have said the same thing.

Its a bit confusing.
