I am thinking about the longer European trips and I am wondering if anyone can give me an idea about the average age? I am 24 and I would like to travel with mostly people my age or older.
Also, how much spending money have past travelers spent in addition to the cost of the package trip? Any advice here? I am looking at June 1, 2007 for the Ultimate European trip with Mykonos option. Anyone else signed up yet? "Don't Waste Your Life" |

Hi,
I just signed up for this tour for the 15 July with the Egypt option! Very exciting. I will be 24 by the time I travel, and my travel agent said to take about $100AD a day on the tour, or a little bit more if you plan on buying pressies on the way! |

Hi Mary Leigh, When I did UE (egypt option), the ages literally varied from 18 to 35. Out of 46 people, there were about 10 people in the 18-23 year group, 20 people aged 24 to 28, and the rest 29 and over. Most people can't afford to go until mid 20's! There were about 4 or 5 people that came as pairs (girls with pals, girls with boyfriends) and the rest were people travelling solo. The money side of it is hard to answer as it depends on what activities you undertake and how much you want to party. Also, gifts can be bought in every country, you need to buy a litre of bottle water a day (US$2), allow for some meals, and local tour guide's tips. I didn't drink, but I did undertake all the optional activities and bought some gifts and I still managed to spend at least $2000 australian dollars several years ago. Also the guides and drivers expect tips of around $2.00US per day. However, don't feel obliged to pay it, but you may want to allow something for them as they do work hard. It's well worth going, even if you have to pay it off later! read one guy's website for what he spent: http://www.ultimate-european.com This message has been edited. Last edited by: Stunnerinau, |

hi i got back 1 month ago form the ultimate euro and had the best time, an expensive time but the best time, in regards to girls to guys ratio we had 34 girls and 16 guys and the age ranged from 18 to 35 but most people being between 23 and 29 i guess!!
in regards to the money, i did about 3/4 of the optionals, bought the meals you have to buy when you can eat the contiki food its **** but will save you heaps, the alcohol will be the killer im not even a big drinker but on contiki that doesnt count for anything, coz all the coktails r just so good, i think i need a liver detox now!! and gifts i bought a few and stuff for me i bought alot and i spent about $5500 aus dollars but was well worth it, take more and regret nothing you will only be there once and dont want to worry about how much money you have left everyday, just enjoy the trip and pay it off later if you have to. anyway enjoy your travels if anyone has any ?? you can email me at peita_20@hotmail.com ciao <*eVeRy1 haVe FuN*> |

On my trip, there were more girls than guys. Out of the 46 people on my bus, 12 were guys and the rest girls. Out of those 12 guys, 3 came with female partners, 1 was gay, 1 had a girl back home and the rest hooked up with girls on the tour (or from other tours that joined ours) at one point or another! |
