I went into a travel agent today and she rang contiki and was told that the new dates will be out on the 19th October.

No worries.
There is a expo down at my local travel agent on the 31st of October so I have made a appointment to book then. I got lucky and managed to get the appointment through the owner so hopefully all goes well!

I am being pretty silly and freaking out that all the spots on the tour will be gone between the 19th and 31st, even though they most likely won't be.

I have a booking for the UE+Egypt tour departing March 28th. Need to pay the deposit and I'll have a confirmed position Big Grin

Heads up for the Aussies out there... The @contikiaus twitter account mentions that they will be releasing early bird discounts on Monday. I should be able to get them to apply the discount and re-issue my invoice. Smiler

I'm starting my trip in Africa, travelling from Cape Town up to Nairobi, before heading to Europe! I can't wait.

I paid my deposit on Thursday, paying the rest plus booking airfares etc on the 31st at an expo. Hopefully I will be able to grab some discounts then.

Which airline is everyone flying with?

I'm flying BA/Qantas as I'm on a round-the-world type fare.

However, I can highly recommend Emirates as their economy class is really comfortable (for economy), and their PTV library is really extensive (and predominantly in english). Plus you usually get a free stopover in Dubai (inbound or outbound); Dubai is definitely worth a look!

Hi Dene I am trying to work out the weather at the time what to pack, things like that are you able to advise?

I have spoken to some ppl that have done this tour or similar, and they have said if u can afford it, opt out of the french dinner and caberet show and go to the Moulin Rouge...I am thinking I might actually do this, for one thing just so I can say I jhave been there

I'm flying with Singapore Airlines, I am extremely scared of flying and have convinced myself that I will be safer on Singapore Airlines because my mum and a few people I know have been on them and haven't had any problems.

I feel really sorry for whoever is sitting next to me on the plane to Egypt!

Hey Victoria!

I will certainly have questions for you about Egypt! Can't think of any right now but I am sure I will think of some.

What are you looking forward to most?
