Hi JenBen

I am travelling in June with my bf but have read on here numerous times that travelling solo is nothing to be scared of as there will be plenty of others in the same boat AND...we are all there wanting to do the same thing Wink

Hey Miranda,
Thanks! I have been realizing that there are a lot people traveling solo. Just waiting to find out when the exact dates are. I'm sure we'll all get to know each other through these message boards even before the trip anyway! Smiler Jen Ben

You don't have to worry about travelling solo. Almost everyone goes solo, you get a few couples on board, or people that have come with mates but you will find yourself just joining them anyway as you have to share rooms etc. Singles share with other singles....Don't panic at all! You get looked after on Contiki and you never really feel alone as long as you're prepared to open yourself to new pals who are also travelling the same trip.

Hey, thanks I feel better hearing this from an experienced contiki traveler. I have traveled in Europe before just never by myself. Do you know the dates for this trip or how to get them because I would like to book it soon! Thanks again, JenBen

I'm hopeing to do the UE next year... I was just wondering...

Why did you choose the UE?
Do you think 46 days are too long?

I have done this trip before and can tell you from experience that 46 days arn't really enough for all the countries you will see. It may seem like an eternity if you happen to take a dislike to someone on the trip : ) Luckily, that isn't usually a problem as everyone is in good spirits, but you get to choose who you share a room with each night and you can just sit and hang out with who you do like. You'll find you don't have time to stop and think "oh this is too long" because each day you are off on a new adventure. The most draining part is being on the bus for 2-3 hours at a time before you get to stop somewhere for a leg-stretch (on some days). Be aware you may have to get up early after partying all night,so be prepared!!

Hi. I'm looking into doing the UE trip in May 2007 - can't decide whether to do the Egypt or the Mykonos option - leaning towards Egypt - other peoples thoughts?

I'm going on the UE on May 11, 2007 and I'm headed for Egypt. I figure why stay in one place when you can go somewhere else? But, it would probably be good to take a rest, but I've also always wanted to see the pyramids - so I'm off to Egypt!!

I just booked the UE for May 11, 2007 and I'm going solo. I'm not really worried about it because it's a tour, and I'm mostly hoping to make lots of friends!!
