Hey, this is Claire from Canada replying to your message...
I'm leaving from Canada on the 5th and arrive in Rome on the 6th, not too sure what time, but it would be nice to meet up with someone before we go wherever we're going, i am also a bit in the dark.

Hi Louise, yeah i guess that helps, we're pretty close in age! I'm from the lesser known London Ontario, two hours south of Toronto. So i guess we'll just meet at the hotel. I still don't know what hotel we're at, where it is and how i get there once i'm off the flight, i suppose this information is pretty accessable, but i haven't figured that bit out yet, any info on that would be great.

hey claire, sorry i havent replied sooner, im on holiday in the US at the mo and the internet is very expensive so i havent used it til now, im using a company called terravision to get from the airport to the centre of rome and then i looked on a website about the hotel n it sed its accesible by public transport so im going to give it a try which should be interesting especially as i dont speak italian, we could try and meet in the centre and make our way together, or we could meet in the hotel lobby

Hey Louise,
So, I found out from my travel agent that i actually have a shuttle booked from the airport to the hotel. So i am just giving a ticket to this shuttle bus and it takes me right there. Sorry, i wont be able to meet you before hand. Good luck with getting there, i'm sure there will be many buses, trains or cabs available...but i could meet you in the lobby (i think you will be arriving a bit earlier than me). Write back if this works for you.

Wow, 1ish eh? i guess it will take a while to get through the airport and to the hotel. Well, I will see you in the lobby then. I have light brown long hair ( though it may be up).
Just so you know though...i may want to have a wee nap once i get there since it's at least a 7 hour flight from Canada, but maybe we could do something after, before the dinner where we meet everyone else.

a nap is absolutely fine, i will be up at 3 to catch my flight and its my parents 25th wedding anniversary party the day before, so i doubt much sleep will be had that night. i reckon i will get to the hotel at 1ish, but whenever you get there is fine. any idea what the situation re room check in is?

Good to know i'm not alone in napping.
As for checking into hotels, we have a voucher with all our documents that we show at the hotel desk and they will probably have things arranged for us. It's all kind of mysterious, but i feel like once we get there, things will get sorted out.
We have a lot of free time throughout the trip. Is there anything in particular you want to see? I know for sure that i want to check out the Uffizi in Florence, St. Mark's in Venice, probably the Colosseum and the ancient city in Rome.  Not to mention some good wining and dining throughout. If you're up for this stuff, let me know.
