5 weeks off work? How'd you pull that off? I'll be lucky to be getting 1 1/2 wks for Italy. Where in US are you headed before Italy? I'm also going to need that long to save! I have no clue how I'm paying for it, but I'll figure it out.

In high school, I went to Germany, Austria, and France, haven't been to Europe since. My friend I'm traveling with, has never been to Europe so we're both really excited.

Adrienne- where with contiki did you meet your friend?

I did the Scotland trip this past September, and during the trip I was roomed with another girl from Toronto. We both got along well and we really enjoyed that trip (even though it was only 4 days all told), and well, we both decided to take another plunge and go for the Italy trip!

For sure the next few months will be a savings spree. Oops...never mind the holiday season in between (who really needs gifts anyway?...LOL).

This trip seems like another good one. A nice length paired with some good sites being visited. I can taste the wine already!

5 months to go and counting!

My friend and I just booked the trip last week. We tried to go on the March 10th trip, but that was booked. I'm not upset though. This group will be tons of fun I hope.

I think i was a bit surprised myself my boss is letting me have 5 weeks off!

Looks like this trip is filling up nicely, i'm looking like the only aussie so far!

Before Italy i do a short tour USA tour which does Vegas, San Francisco, Bass Lake, santa Barbara and then i've got an extra 6 nights in LA. Anyone can feel free to give me some ideas of what sights etc to see!!

Bring on March already!!!

Everytime I get on this site I get more and more excited- March can't come soon enough!

Katie- My friend and I will also be there the day before. We're staying a day late also- gonna get the most of whatever we can I guess!

Michelle- sounds like you'll have an awesome time out west! I've been to LA and Vegas, both a great time! While you're in LA, try to spend a day in Disneyland - it's so much fun! And if you have any plans to go to the Grand Canyon from Vegas- unless you're doing a helicopter/rafting tour something like that- see if you can rent a car and drive to the west rim instead of the south. It's a lot closer, and a pretty cool drive thru the desert- I can get you directions if you do that. Of course, GC takes away from Vegas party time so picking which is quite the toss-up Smiler
