I'm thinking about going to on the Tuscany tour in late June 2006, but will be going solo and was wondering if anyone is planning on going yet (this is the week of the Palio Festival in Siena - thought it would be fun). 

Has anyone heard anything about this tour, good, bad or ugly?  I've never taken a Contiki tour so any feedback is welcomed!

I was thinking about this tour as well....was wondering what age range was already booked on it and if I'd feel out of place being 32.

My friend Mike and I just booked this very same trip yesterday. We're a couple of 28 year old guys from Minnesota......but who cares about ages, right?  I think if you're ready to have fun and adventure, you should fit right in......I can't wait to see Florence, Siena, etc.

Maybe see you in late June....

I am in the same boat as you.  I'm 31, and am considering this tour June 16-24.  Was also concerned about age, but like Minnesota says...who cares about age!  I am going to London June 10-July 3, and figured this would be a good addition to my trip.  I haven't booked it yet, because I just looked into it today.  When were you planning on going?

I'm actually going the Jun30-Jul 8 trip....take advantage of the extra day off for Independence Day.

I just need to figure out my airfare....and how many extra days I want to spend in Rome before I return to the States.

I'm nervous about the bike ride portion....heard anything?  I haven't ridden a bike since I was probably 6 years old....lol

Oh you're going a little later than I.  I booked it today.  Can't wait! 
I haven't heard anything on this trip.  Just booked it because I want to see Italy, and it fit in the best with my already made travel plans.  I wouldn't worry too much about the bike ride...you know the saying:  "It's like riding a bike"   I don't think you ever forget!

Hi Sharyn,

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one nervous about the bike ride!!  About two years ago I took a really major fall on a bike on this really steep hill so I'm a little nervous about hopping again.  If it's all flat ground I'll be okay, but hills are out of the question =) 

Unfortunately, we're not going on the same trip (I'm going June 16-24...same as Shawna).  I don't think you're going to have anything to worry about in consideration to age.  I'm 30 and from the way it looks on these message boards, there's going to be a few of us in the same age range.  Even if that doesn't end up being the case, don't let your age be the definition for all the fun you can have.  Just relax and enjoy every minute because time is really going to fly fast there.  Have a great time!
