we have booked on tour RTA June 2 07 as well! can't belive how much time is flying -only 4 months to go!
Are you guys doing any other tours? We are heading off to greek isles after tour ends. Gonna be awesome!

Yes it is closing in quickly ( a little to quick for savings sake ). But its good every day i get a slight bit more nervous. Iv never bin overseas or even on a plane since I was about 1 year old!

Yea were gona stay about 6 months in europe total, after the tour we are going backpacking and yes indeed it starts with an easy 9 days or so in the greek islands

Hope more peoples start coming online, all tho it may ruin the surprise of meeting 40 strangers who are about to spend 15 days straight with us.

Ha Ha yeah I know what you mean -we are saving like crazy too!

6 months in Europe would be awesome -I'm so jealous . I've been overseas once before -but this will be my biggest flight -24hrs on a plane is going to be soooo long! I hope thay have good entertainment. We leave Perth on the 30th May -which gives us one day in London to check out the sights before the tour starts -when are you getting to London? Are you travelling alone?

I'm travelling with my good mate Josh the whole time over there but his going to America on the 1st of May and where gona meet in London on the 1st of June. So yea im gona be on the good ol 24 hour flight by myself haha.

Worried about entertainment on the flight?
Whats more entertaining the free grog! haha

Im leaving Sydney on the 31st of May and getting in around 3pm at London on the 1st. Are you staying at the Contiki place the night before? Who are you travellin with?

hey I am also going to be on that tour starting on june 2. I am going to be leaving for london on may 29th. I cant wait I am soo excited. I am travelling alone. This is my second time to europe.

Sounds like we'll be getting into London within a few days of each other - We're checking into the Contiki hotel in London on 31st May- maybe we'll see you at the pub?

I'm travelling with my partner -Scott. Neither of us have been to Europe -in fact I've just found the hotel location on a map of London and am totally freaked out over how big the city is!

Can anyone offer advice on how to get from Heathrow to the hotel? Our travel agent says to take the tube -but others have told me it's a nightmare to catch?

I think I am taking the tube from healthrow to downtown london. I heard it wasnt that bad and its pretty cheap. which hotel are you staying at? I will definetely be at the pub or club..ahaha... I plan on doing some sight seeing of london before the tour starts. I am not sure if you get free grog on the plane. more than likely you would. I guess it depends on the airline.

I'm thinkin the tube is the way to go, nice n cheap plus from living in Canberra my whole life every train ride I go on is an adventure in itself . The contiki hotel place is right next to where the bus leaves in the morning of the tour I believe and I think there is a pub there 2 so me and my mate will probs be drinkin there the night before.

As for booze on flights I know iv got it, not to sure about some air companys but I know from what iv been told the vast majority of International flights all have free grog as standard.

I think this will be the "official" June 2 Road to Athens Contiki forum haha.

My friend Nicole and I are also going on the RTA tour and we are also leaving on May 29th. We're staying at the contiki hotel, the Imperial I guess you call it.I imagine that after some sight seeing in London my friend and I will be in the pub doing our own fair share of drinking.

What time do you get into London Mike?
I think that my friend and I decided on getting to the hotel by taxi due to our tendacy to get lost all the time.

I just checked our tour under the dates and rates section of the website and it says to "call for availability." That must mean that our tour is already full.

I am staying at the imperial hotel. I think I get into london around 630 am. I leave on the 29th in the evening. where are you from? what time do u get into london? I am taking the tube into london as taxi I heard is riduculously expensive. I cant wait!

Hey Mike,
My friend and I are also leaving on the evening of the 29th and we arrive at 1:40pm. We are leaving from Vancouver at 8:30 pm and I don't even want to try and figure out how long I am going to be on that plane but I am sure it will all be worth it. Where are you flying from? Hopefully for your sake it will be Newfoundland so it won't take long.

I just read some of the post on here, You guys all seem pretty organized haha. I don't know when my flight leaves where I'm staying in London, how i'm getting there etc. It's going to be a wicked adventure. By the sounds of it I'll be running in to some of you before the tour start. Im pretty sure I'm departing from Vacouver @ 6:00pm on the 31st. I can't wait to put faces to the people on here. I've never been travelling on my own, let alone in europe. It's going to be Fabulous.
