any other solo travelers thinking of booking this trip? still unsure which dates, but thinking about going sometime late July, early August. looking to get some feedback, ideas when to go, maybe meet some people in the same boat....traveling alone, looking to get away, see some sights, meet some new interesting people, and have some fun this summer!
Hi. Im doing the London to Athens trip by myself on the 25th July-14th August.Ive also decided to add on Greek Island hopping from the 15 august-27th August. Going to change my booking next week. Im really excited about going alone.Ive decided to add the island hooping on because I think it will be a good way to relax after my first tour.Ive also seen on this website that there are other people booked onto that particular tour which is reasuring. joanne
Hi there, im doing the tour from July 31 to Aug 12, and yes im travelling alone! Im doing the spanish spree tour first, staying on in ibiza before flying to athens to start the island hopping tour on 31 July. Im little nervous going solo, but im positive i'll meet heaps of cool exciting people, and have ball! You should do the same tour!
This will be my second trip to mykonos and santorini, and i def recommend! The beaches are amazing, and the beach bars and clubs in mykonos are so much fun! Cavo Paradiso is a must, and dinner in 'little venice' is just beautiful! Santorini is stunning, the sunsets, last time i rode a donkey down what felt like a million steps, and a little old greek man walked the entire way leading the donkey, what an experience!
Hoping to meet other solo travellers too, and would like to stay couple extra nights in athens at the end of the tour, interested??
I am also thinking of doing the Greek Islands trip solo, but am looking at the Aug 8 trip, as it's guaranteed. do you have any worries about not booking a guaranteed one?
Hey there, if you check out the website pretty much all the greek island hoping tours are guaranteed during July and Aug. I wasnt aware until not that long ago! July 31, Aug 3, 6 and 9 are all guaranteed trips.

It's my first time on a contiki tour and i'm travelling alone on the May 25th tour. I'm really excited I'll be in Athens a day before the tour begins and a day after the tour ends.
Hey Bec, you mentioned you did spanish spree last year.... im doing it this year, before my greek island hopping tour on July 31. What did you think of spanich spree last year?? Any advice, tips?
Hey becks, Spanish Spree was awesome - had heaps of canadians and americans but they were all good. heaps of spare time to do your own thing and quite a bit included too. try and so as many optionals as you can, they are worth it. Def do tapas, salsa clubs and late night dinners - Barcelona was one of my favs and so was Granada. Dont forget Ibiza you'll most def get the contiki cough, but it's all part of the experience Pacha is the best! - i wish i was going back now!
oh forgot one tip - try spanish ham, it's the best!!! and you have to go to the dirtiest tapas bar, if there are no napkins on the floor then the food is no good, sounds gross but that's the way it is and you'll see...

Cant wait for barcelona, tapas, salsa, and of course ibiza... whats it like though in ibiza while doing contiki.. i wana pretty much do my own thing there like bora bora beach and hit the clubs.. did you just buy tickets when you were there? I'll def be sure to do all the optionals! A dirty tapas bar you say.... hmmm cant wait!!
ibiza on contiki is fine cos once you get to your hotel u dont see anyone unless its at breakfast, dinner or out at the clubs. You def have the free time you need there to do whatever. Now in getting your tickets do not get them at the door, either get them from the hotel or at this bar on the corner called El Pirata.... guys on bikes sell you them on the streets (looks dodgy) but give you great savings...
