Is anyone out there doing the may 16th island hopping tour?. I'm going to be there with bells on with a friend that i'll be travelling with.

I'm from Sydney. I have not done contiki before however I am doing my first trip at the end of March for 3 weeks around Europe then doing this Island Hopping one on the 16th May.

I am travelling with a good friend and we will be in Europe together for just over 3 months.

This will be our first lot of Contiki's together. We have travelled overseas plenty of times before but just not together. Am looking forward to it.

Are you travelling by yourself or with others?

Hey, Jodie. Happy New Year to you, too!! You will definitely love the Contiki trips. Depending on which trip you're doing, you will see a ton and stay very busy. I did the Simply Italy trip last year, and had one of the best times of my life (with plenty of Aussies). I went by myself on that trip, and probably will be doing the same in May. I didn't have a problem with it, because, as you and your friend might find out, I'm definitely an out-going social guy that will make the most of anything. So where you going in Europe?

The Italy trip sounds as though it would have been very good. We are starting with the 21 day tour of Europe visiting France, Italy, Austria, Switz, Germany and Netherlands. After that we are continuing our travels propably to Scotland & Ireland before heading back down to Spain and Italy. We then are going to meet up for the Island hopping in Greece then continue our way back to London through Hungary, Prague, Germany etc.

We are looking at being away for 3 months. How long are you going for? Are you only planning the contiki trip?

I'm pretty outgoing as well and can't wait for the opportunity to meet everyone along the way.

Hey, Jodie. Being your average American kid in the work force, we don't have too many opportunities to get away for 3 months at a time. So, I'm just planning on going on this trip for 2 weeks. Straight to Greece and then straight back to Chicago.

Meeting people is the best. I didn't speak to ANYONE from my Simply Italy trip beforehand, so it will be cool to actually be able to run up to you and say, "Jodie, I'm Sammy." LOL.

You just out of school then, or you just have the time to get away for 3 months?

Nah, I'm 25 and am a teacher. I teach in Early Childhood here in Aus which is children from 2yrs to 5yrs before they go to school.

I have been at my workplace for almost 5 years so I am resigning before I go away and will come home again to find a new job.

I'm studying at University for a teaching degree so I can teach in Schools and need to be home in July to start my subjects.

I have travelled many times over the years with work allowing me the time off but they won't allow me 3 months so it's easier to come home and find another job.

What do you do for work?

Hey, Jodie. Actually I was a teacher for a few years before I did a complete 180, and went into sports television. Now I do work on professional and college sports in the States.

That's great that you will be enjoying plenty of time off before coming home and finding a teaching job. Good luck!!!

Oh, one thing I forgot to say about Contiki trips. If you can afford them, definitely do as many optional excursions as possible. They are DEFINITELY worth the money. A few people from my Italy trip completely regretted not doing a couple that they heard were amazing. Oh, well.

So are you, your friend, and I the only ones going on this trip? Seriously, people, come on, say hi already!!!!

Sounds like you have a very interesting job.That'd be something that i'd probably enjoy. I love my sports.

As for the optional excursions for the tours, I have been looking into them and will definately do one or two in each Counrty.

Anyways, hope your well and trying not to work to hard. I no I'm trying not too.

We've done the sensible thing and r going to Greece before the Europeans hit the Islands for their mid summer break.

Can't wait. Time is getting closer as I head for another Contiki Tour at the end of March around Europe.

If there is anyone else out their coming to Greece on this tour please feel free to chat with us.

R u guys just doing the tour or are you travelling afterwards?

I will have been travelling for 7.5 weeks before hand and am thinking of hitting Turkey after.
