YAY!!! Someone has finally posted here who is on my tour =)

I booked this tour back in December and started a thread in about January looking for fellow hoppers. There was 1 person who replied but they arent doing this tour anymore.

Would like to stay in touch and chat before we head over. Am doing another couple of tours before this one and have already started talking to people on them. It kinda makes the trip seem a bit more real as I am travelling by myself. Chatting to people has given me someone to share my excitment with and they are as pumped as I am.

i'm a solo traveller from perth, Australia.

Myself and my best friend are both in on this tour too!! We are doing this and the Italian Espresso (aug 2nd - 9th). It's very exciting to come across some fellow travellers!

I just booked the Greek Island Hopping trip through my travel agent and I'm really excited. This will be my first time using Contiki and traveling solo.

Have any of you guys been on this trip before?

when is everyone arriving in athens? i'm getting there a few days before the tour, i'm travelling solo so looking for some people to meet up with.

hey homestar, havent really set a plan on what i want to do yet, want to do some scuba diving, thats bout all i got planned.

helenof troy, i will be in athens from the 6th. but i am not staying at the contiki hotel, too expensive for a single person, i am staying at a backpackers, called athens backpackers.

Say are you guys bringing a standard wallet or one of those special "travel" wallets that go around your neck? I haven't heard much about the crime in Athens or the islands. I would imagine that it might be a little awkward going to the dance clubs with a wallet wrapped around your neck.

Also, are you guys planning on getting your spending money once in Greece or before hand?

and homestar, i'm using a normal wallet. i'm not sure of the crime in greece, but i travelled through other parts of europe (england, belgium, germany, italy, france etc) for 5 weeks ealrier this year and my wallet was in the back pocket of my jeans (open pocket, no button) the whole time, walkin round during the day and at night in pubs and clubs and i had no dramas.
and i'll be gettin money in greece. gonna throw the credit card in an atm.
