I was interested in doing the ski tour of New Zealand this year (have never done a contiki before) and was wondering if anyone could answer some questions for me?

1. How far in advance do you need to book the tours?
2. Do you book and pay for the optional extras on the tour or beforehand?
3. Did anyone go on the Cleo/Ralph ski tour last year and what was it like?
4. I've got my own gear, should I take it with me or would it be safer/easier to hire over there?
5. If I stay a night before or after any recommendation on where to stay? ( the tour starts/ends in Christchurch)
6. Are there any other expenses that I'll need to pay for that aren't on the itinerary?

Ummm thats all I can think of right now, but might post again with more questions!

I am a travel agent and have booked a few contikis myself for clients so i can defo help with some of your quetsions...

1. I would book a tour as soon as you no which one you are going on as you can secure your place before gets booked out. However you have to bare in mind that they require a deposit if approx $200 per person within 7 days.

2. Optional extras are booked whilst on your tour.

3. I havent been on the contiki ski tour yet..but am looking at booking next year. I am however doing the scenic southern in october.

4. You can take ur gear over there but please can i recomend travel insurance incase they get lost:S....some places have great deals on hiring equipment per day.

5. I recommedn the beasleys hotel in christchurch as this is where contiki can book your pre accomodation or if u choose not to do through contiki...hotelso is a good option very central.

6.Everything on your itinerary is what is included...this is great
