So my friend and I will be flying in to London on Sept 17... so my question is this, is anyone else flying in that day or what? I'm actually flying in hours before her and I'm not gonna lie I'm terrible with directions so it would super fantastic if I had a buddy to show me where to go.... lol.
I get there on the 19th, I'm just gonna take the subway from Heathrow to either holborn or russell square, from the looks of the map it only goes one way from Heathrow and its supposed to be quick and will cost less the $10cdn
Yeah Russell Square is the stop you need, come out of the tube station and turn left and the contiki hotel is down a street on the right opposite the square.
From Heathrow it is about 45 minutes and will cost about £4.50 cash fare (£1.50 with an oyster card), the Heathrow express goes to Paddington in 15 mins for £15 but you would then need to change for the underground so if you have time the tube is the way to go.
what airport are you flying in to? If it's Heathrow the tube is really easy to follow, if it's any other...well I'm in the same boat as you, I'll figure it out eventually though.
We are both flying into the Gatwick Airport ... just several hours apart from one another ... I think we're both taking the train to Victoria Station and then a taxi to the hotel from there ... anyone have any other genius ideas ... or is that sufficient?! The tour manual gives great directions from all the airports in London as well -
doesn't sound like a bad plan, but if you look up the tube online it's really easy to navigate around London. That's the only thing I think I've mastered from London.
If you get to Victoria you can catch the Victoria line one stop to Green Park, change to the Piccadilly line and head to Russell Square, it is pretty easy and it should only take you about 15 mins at the most
