Hey everyone,

I'm on the fence about taking my first overseas trip.  I've wanted to go to Ireland since I was 10 years old, and for the first time I have the time to do so (just hoping the money to do so will role in!)  The kick of it is, I don't have anyone to go with me.  The message board for solo travelers has been a big help, it really got me excited about going.  So...is there anyone out there who will be going on the Southern Ireland trip starting 13 of September, or someone who has been on this trip and can tell me what to expect?  Any info would be great!!!

Happy Travels!!

Hi Sage,

I just read your message. I wanted to tell you that I will be going on the Ireland trip in April, and I am going alone as well. Alittle nervous but I am going for it! I will definately let you know how it goes after I come back. It seems like a lot of people travel alone with contiki.  Smiler take care

Deanna

Hey Deanna,

That would be great if you could tell me what to look forward too..but with out spoiling any surprises!  Red Face)   I'm more into the culture and history of places, and very keen on hearing authentic pub music!!!  Let me know what you thougth of it when you get back.  I really hope more people are going in September..I really don't want it cancelled (it's the only time I could get off work!! )   Anywho...have a great time on your tour, and drink a pint for me!!!!!

Happy Travels,

Hi!
I'm also going on this trip Sept 13 solo! I'm so glad I found you on hnere because I was hoping to connect with someone before I get there. I have never traveled alone before but I'm really looking forward to this trip. I think we will have a great time! Where are you from in the US? I'm going to send you a private message as well.

THANK GOD!!!!!!!! I really thought I was going to be the only one on this trip!!  I couldn't even find anyone who was doing the Great Britian and S.Ireland tour that would connect to this one.

I'm from Reading, PA. How about you?
I just want the weeks to go quicker so we can leave!!!!  I'm extending my tour until the 24th so I can meet up with some friends who live all over Ireland, England and Scotland. This is going to be great!!!  Talk to you later!

Hey Sage,

I'm in Boston. I'm so excited too! It's great you are extending your trip to go to England and Scotland. I might also head over to England and extend my stay. I really want to see London and maybe Edinburgh if I can fit it in. So did you book your flight on your own? We are going to have a blast! Smiler

Hey Kristen,

I'm going to book my air on my own.  I checked with Contiki and their air is around $700, and I checked with a few other airlines and the price is ranging between $550-$700.  But I found a flight from the 13 to the 24 for $430 with Aer Lingus.  Check out the web site www.aerlingus.com I think they have some specials fom Boston to Dublin.  I'm flying out of JFK.   Only 149 more days to go!!!!!!  (yes, I'm so counting down to this!!!)

Talk to ya later.

Hey Joel,

Sorry I haven't heard from anyone other than us Americans!!! But Australians make up a large portion of contiki numbers on tours, so there's still hope! Have fun in GB, that's the next trip I'd like to take, especially Scotland and the Military Tattoo.

Hey Megan,
I know how ya feel. After I posted, it took forever to find someone that was going on this tour, now I can't beleive how many there actually are! I've begun my countdown with a vengence here at work, as of today we only have 36 more days to go! It seems like a few people are arriving in Dublin early, wish I could. When I get in on the 14th of September I am going to hit Dublin's Natural History and National Museums, anyone interested let me know, it would be much easier having someone else to walk around with. See ya all soon!
