I'm Adrienne, and I'll be taking the Scotland tour at the same time, also travelling alone. This is my first Contiki, but from what I've heard, it should be amazing!  I'm really looking forward to it...weeks can't go by fast enough.

It's good to know there will be at least two Canadians on the tour!
I'm flying in on Sep 8 on Air Transat. For some reason, they seem to be the only airline that flies from Toronto to Edinburgh direct. I'm not much of a flyer, so I figured the most direct route's the best!  Which flight did you book?

The only "downside" to the flight I chose is that I return on Sep 15, which means 2 extra days in Edinburgh after our tour officially ends (so sad...not).  I plan to take in any parts of the city that we don't cover on the tour, and who knows, maybe a museum or three.
I've never been to Scotland, and from the pics I've seen, it's absolutely beautiful.  I plan to snap at least a million pics!
I am so glad I took a chance and just booked it. It will probably be one of my best holidays ever, if not THE best (I hope!).

I know what you mean about speaking to someone before going there....it helps take some of the unknown away.  Hopefully more people will reply to this post and let us know they're joining the fun!

Yeah, I know good to know two Canadians at least!! I'm flying Air Canada on the 8th, and it's not a direct flight, I have to stop in Heathrow. Which could be cool, but like you, I'm not much of a flier either. It seems everytime I get on a plane something goes wrong! LOL

But I am flying out of Toronto too, flight leaves at 10:50.

I was going to have to stay a few extra days, but my flight got switched around, so I'm out of there when the tour ends. I'm a little sad about that, but I'm sure the tour is going to rock, and we will have an awesome time.

I know what you mean about taking so many pictures. I'll be taking a million or so too!!

I have never been to Scotland either, but did tour some of Europe a few years ago, and it's absoluty breathtaking.

Yeah, I'm hoping some other people will join on here and let us know they are coming along too. But it's great to talk to you and ease some of the nerves before going on a tour with a bunch of people you dont know. But heck, that's half the fun!

So I was reading some of the reviews in the Reviews section, and I found out that our tour will be joining the GB and Southern Island tour on day 3 of their journey.  This is cool except that some reviewers said that the people on the other tour are already bonded by the time they get to Scotland, and it makes it a bit harder to blend in.  Oh well, I'm up for a challenge!  Besides, at least we already know one other person who will be new to the group. My guess is that there will be about 6 of us who join the bigger group. But who knows?  Another part of the mystery!

Yeah, I was reading that too, but didn't know what to think about it!! Your right might be a bight of a challenge, but who cares, we can be up for anything! LOL
I think that might be fun, getting to know more people. And your right, we will know one another so that makes it that much better. The more the merrier. Do you know if they are staying right to the end of our trip, or are we only meeting up for about a day or two?

I have been reading so much of the advice and reviews on this website, I think it's awesome to hear from pervious travlers. I was thinking if you wanted to chat some more, and you have msn add me brmwm@hotmail.com
