From the info on the alcatraz website, they will be CLOSED on the 27 November as its a public holliday as well as the last day of our tour.

The night tour do operate but a wee bit earlier only.
Your options are:
* do the early bird at 9:00am on Sat morning or
* book for night tour at 4:30pm on Sat evening.

I booked this tour only a month ago - last minute decision - and I just made the cut.

First time to the states and first Contiki. Cannot WAIT. I'm in LA at the moment hanging out with my best friend who's living and working here but am counting down the days to the departure!

I'm also heading off on the trip on the 18th. Only booked about a month ago so a bit last minute but cannot wait. First time with Contiki but I've done a fair bit of travelling before.

Cali sunshine doesn't stop shining - the weather is beautiful. Hard to believe it's fall and not doing anything to prepare me for my 10 days in NYC in Dec. Argh.

So, I've been staying with my friend in LA for a few weeks now and would be more than happy to show anyone the ropes if you're arriving a few days early.

My plan was to do Disneyland on Tues 17 Nov before the tour but I'd just as easily do two days there - Mon and Tues. Just don't know if I'd be able to get accommodation for the Monday night?

If anyone needs accommodation in LA before the tour the Banana Bungalow is pretty good. Stay at the West Hollywood one not the Hollywood one - WH is more central to the fun spots and easier to travel to and from on the bus etc.

Also, how are you guys planning to get to Anaheim?

My plan was taxi to the airport and then the super shuttle to Anaheim (as the cheapest, not necessarily easiest, option).

Let me know if anyone has a better idea.
