I'm also on this tour and also from Melbourne, but traveling alone. Seems like we have the same idea coming from a Euro tour in '06, I did the Winter Wanderer.

I'm getting into LA on 29 June so will have a couple of days to do some stuff. Haven't really thought about what I want to do yet, but Knot's Berry Farm (or disneyland) looks promising, and possibly see a baseball game because I can. Roller coasters are always more fun in groups though.
When are you guys getting in?

I'm going to be on Wild Western, that's the same tour until San Francisco, and then we come back to LA.
I'm from Brazil and travelling on my own too.
I'm going to arrive in LA in 29th too! Are you going to stay in Contiki's hotel?? I don't know yet what I'm gonna do these days before the tour...

I'm pretty sneaky about the "where I'm from" part in the beginning because we're going to my hometown on your trip! So I always joke that I'll tell you when we get there As for how many there will be, I'm afraid I don't know either. I don't get my passenger list until the day before we depart. That's why I love these forums. It's great to meet you all weeks beforehand. What are you all most excited to see/know about?

Yeah I will be staying at the Best Western 'Contiki Hotel'. I get into LAX at 10 so should be there early afternoon.

As for my most excited part of the tour, not being at work is probably the big part!

Hi B & P! I've heard wonderful things about VIP for a one day tour. A lot of territory covered in a short time. Otherwise, there are fun shorter tours in and around Hollywood. I like the Red Line walking tour or the Star Line tour. The walking tour is more old Hollywood history and the Star Line is one of those funny "tour of the stars homes" all over Hollywood and the Hills. Are you flying into Anaheim or LA? PS I think Universal Studios is so much fun. I've loved the back set drive since I was a kid. If you're star crazy, the WB studios does a really cool behind the scenes VIP tour.
We meet for the first time at 7pm on July 1st at the Best Western Stovalls Inn in Anaheim. It's just a quick getting to know you thing though so you can meet us on July 2nd at 7am if you're off doing fabulous things on the 1st.
Definitely book Alcatraz early. I would say 3-4 wks in advance in the summer. Other than that, you can take care of everything else when we're on the coach.

Karen and Paul from UK, travelling with Andy and Chiara from Italy on a mega trip to the US, including NY, LA, Contiki LA to the bay tour and staying on a few days in San Francisco.

Really looking forward to an action packed holiday with lots of sights and partying. Staying at the Best Western hotel on the 1st, hopefully see some of you then.
