I'm coming from the UK too to do the Western Highlights which is part of the same thing I think. I've been on it before and it's sooo much fun!! Katie x

I'll be on the Wild western (same bus too) from Toronto (Canada) - trying to read through all the different forums (esp all those "What I wish I knew..."), read the hotel reviews, and figure out what I need to carry etc - darn, two weeks isn't long enough to prepare ! Hope it will be fun though!

Oh forgot to ask: is anyone going on Alcatraz - and is it better to book on the Friday or the Saturday (I think that's day 11 or 12) and in the early bird (9:00) or morning (9:30)? Wish we could book the day of to know how we feel that morning and how many others are going when...

I've booked an evening tour on the Sunday I think for Acatraz.

Does anyone know what happens at the pre-tour meeting the evening before? I was planning on going to disney that day and maybe skipping the meeting....

Last time I went on this tour I didn't go to the meeting the night before and I am not going again this time. It wasn't a problem...

Is the info for the pre-tour meeting on the website or in the package that contiki sends you? I don't know anything about any pre-tour meeting but then I haven't gotten my contiki package yet (I booked rather late).

Is the pre-tour meeting generally late into the night? I am not staying at the hotel the night before so it might be hard to get to the pre-tour meeting.
