Just wondering if anyone is doing this tour on these dates. I'm travelling on my own and keen to get to know a few people before hand.

I'm doing the wild western starting the 8th Oct and i'm pretty sure that the tours are joined on the same bus I just head on a little further after san fran...so i will most probably be on tour with you as well.
I'm also travelling on my own but don't worry alot of people do. I went to the states last year on my own and had an awesome experience.

Great news. I was starting to think I was gonna be the only one
I'm 27 and from London. I'm arriving in LA a couple of days before the tour starts to see some of LA on my own then heading to New York for 5 days before heading home.
Can't wait now I've got it all booked up.

Nah you won't be the only one..people tend to get on to the forums closer to the tour date i think.
I'll be in LA for 3 nights before the tour as i am doing the grand northern before this one. I'm hopefully going to do some theme parks and see LA. Are you staying at the hotel the tour starts from?

I fly out on the Sunday before the tour. Like you, hoping to see LA before heading off on the tour. I'm not sure where I'm staying before the tour at the minute. It would make sense to stay at the same place as where the tour starts I guess. just not sure if it's easy to see most of LA from there or get room for a couple of nights in the downtown area.

Yeah i'm not sure whats easier..the Anaheim hotel is a little way out from LA...for me it's piece of mind to be in the right place for when the tour starts.
As i am doing the grand northern before this tour i'm sure there will be people staying on after the tour to see LA as well which will be good

By the looks of it the Anaheim hotel offer LA sightseeing day tours on the front desk so that looks like a safe bet. And like you say there should be fellow "Contikiers" staying there too.

Yeah there definately will be...i actually already know of one person that is staying in Anaheim after the grand northern for the same amount of time as me...so i'm sure we can get a group together to sightsee

Hi guys...I will also be going on the LA to the Bay trip and will also be travelling alone! I leave 2 days after my 30th birthday so wanted something to remember it by!!! The trip looks awesome and am getting quite excited now!

Have you guys already booked your flights and hotel? I have and think I arrive in LA about 3ish in the afternoon of the 7th Oct. If not too jet lagged perhaps we could meet in the hotel for a drink...mind you think we'll need early nights as the trip starts at 7am the next morning! But just thought it might be nice to meet up before the trip starts!

We are a couple Saffers who live in London and are also on the LA to the Bay on Oct 8. We are spending a few days in LA before the tour starts, can anyone recommend somewhere good to stay, we havent booked accommodation yet.

carolina what a great birthday present and way to remember this time of your life...very exciting..

I'm book for 3 days before the tour in the best western (the hotel the tour starts from)
The pre tour meeting the night before the tour will give people a chance to meet each other and then probably organise to go to a resturant for dinner...don't worry bout having early morns there'll be plenty of them and yoiu'll get used to them after going out many hours of the night as well...it's all in the experience of it all..

I'm all booked up with Flights. I get to LA on Sunday 5th October. Haven't booked a hotel yet though. I'll probably stay in the Best Western the night before the tour but might stay elsewhere the first two nights so it's easier to see some of LA beforehand. Late Nights and early mornings are the sign on a good holiday )

Sorry we forgot to introduce ourselves, I'm Terence and my girlfriends Adele. This is her first contiki, I have been on the European discovery trip and had an awesome time, so been wanting to do a US contiki for ages.

Good idea to have some dinner the night before to get to know a few people.

We can't decide which theme parks to visit, we heard Disneyland Park is more for kids?

i'm thinking of doing knotts berry farm and universal.
i did disney in florida and it was great there are still good rides there too
