Hey bec

lol. That's part of the fun... seing people from everywhere. I am looking forward to it too.

Nope. This is my first visit ever to US. So I'm half excited, half worried for the unexpected. I'm just doing this LA to the bay. I would love to do more but my holiday is not much and I'm just stealing some days around Canadian Thanksgiving.

Can't wait to see Alcatraz Smiler

So I gathered you take NY and LA as well.. Wht don't do Best of USA tour? That would capture all Smiler

Hey bec,

lol. Yes, our tour better be running coz I am in the same situation. I work in US tax and October is the only time I could escape after busy season. And the weather should be goooood. Not too hot and not yet winter. So yay! let's do countdown....

124 days to go.. Ehm... still three digits. Here...2976 hours... sounds better to me.

I'm sure we'll all have a blast on this. LA, Vegas and SF are the ones I am really excited about coz I saw Hollywood and Golden Gate in TVs and books but have never visited them.

anything in particular that you are really want to visit, bec? I am planning to stay in SF afterwards- I really wanna see alcatraz and do some city tours. Perhaps Universal Studio in LA too before the tour. Wow, this will be awesome!

Have a good day,
Deniz

well our countdown is a little shorter than that cause we've got new york first so i think weve got 116 days to go. i cant wait till were out of the 100's. im looking forward to new york first im just a big fan of it (well from movies and t.v anyway. jess and i are also excited to do the theme parks in L.a. weve got fours in between so weve got two days at disney one at universal and one at knotts berry. i wish i had an extra day at san fran cause i really want to see alcatrez too. i just cant wait to get on the flight even though its 20 hours. is canada that different to america? i know its meant to be a lot prettier but being so close the culture and food and stuff wouldnt be that different? i used to work in a lolly shop and imported some american candy so i cant wait to see all the different food. everyone says the portion size is really big and im a small eater. anyway cant wait

see ya

Hi Deniz,

As bec said it's great to have people from diffent countries on the trip, It sounds as if we are all in the same boat with getting time off work to go. I work at a college so have to go in the school holidays. I'm really looking forward to alcatraz as well. I don't think i will start the countdown untill we get to around 50 days though Smiler

Hey bec and Jono,

NY is awesome. I could understand what Frank Sinatra meant by saying NYC is 'city that never sleep' (in his song 'New York New York'). It is very alive.. and awfully congested too.

Canada in terms of tourism offers many historical scene, namely historical buildings in the east coast (Ottawa, Toronto, Quebec). On the west, Vancouver all the way to Alberta has lots of wonderful beaches, and Rocky Mountain. Between Alberta and British Columbia there are lots of things to see so it is a great expereince to doa drive there (or train vacation).

I have not been to US so culture wise, I'm not sure. Many Canadians, like me, are immigrants, so there are lots of Korean, Japaneese, Vietnameese, Italians, Greeks, and Chinese, to name a few. So there are many different foods and many different people.

As for portion size, that is true. I am a small eater too, so in general a Canadian/American sized portion is enough to serve 3 poeple. So when ordering, perhaps you and yor friend can order a portion first. But that only holds for American type restaurants I believe. Japaneese restaurants here still has normal sized food.

lol. Yes this holiday pretty much becomes something to look forward too after being busy at work. So Jono, you're saving your countdown, eh? That's great. Scientists says that would save some brain cells Smiler

talk to you all later,
Deniz
