Hey All,

I did this tour in May 06 and I had a blast! I definitely recommend this tour! If any of you are a house/techno fan, love the beach and plan on going on this tour in 07 my advice is to STAY EXTRA TIME IN IBIZA! I didn't get a chance to stay extra time in Ibiza in 06 when I did this tour because at the time the tour ended in Barcelona. But they changed the tour around and this tour now ends in IBIZA! There are lots of decently priced hotels to stay at in Ibiza. I think Ibiza is one of the most amazing places on earth! Absolutely wonderful! I would really love to go back there one day.

Cheers!

Hi Caroline,

I'm thinking of taking this trip in July '07. Which hotel in Ibiza did you stay at during the tour? I want to get an idea of what it's going to be like.

Thanks! Smiler

Hey there blogger,

We stayed at "Hotel El Puerto" in Ibiza. It was a decent hotel. I would say about a two star. But the hotel is in a really awesome location! It is right in the centre of town, close to a few main discos and fairly close to the beach "Playa D'en Bossa". Also here is a tip: There is a convenience store right across from the hotel you will be staying at. They sell alcohol there at a good price. So buy your alcohol there and pre-drink in your room first and THEN go partying at the clubs. It is waaay cheaper this way. The clubs in Ibiza charge about 8 euro a drink. Also before you go clubbing hit up some of the little outdoor pubs and drink there too. They usually have awesome drink specials on like buy one get one free. Ask your tour manager about this I am sure he/she will know.

Cheers,

Caroline

Hey Vivo,

I had an awesome time on this tour! Ibiza rocked! I am still always talking about it to this day. I went solo on the trip and I am glad I did that. I didn't have to babysit anyone and really got to mingle with the locals and I took off on my own alot. I really hate being tied down to a group or one person when travelling. I like to be spontaneous. I am doing "Simply Italy" and "Golden Fleece" this May/June on my own too. I can't wait!

Cheers,

Caroline

I'm still making final decisions on my Spain tour....travelling on the 5th vs. the 13th. Regardless, I really want to spend a few extra days in Ibiza. If anyone is thinking the same, email me....soflasweetie@gmail.com

p.s. ask me for my myspace if you want to see pictures.

Hi Caroline!
Thanks for the great info. Smiler
You will love "Simply Italy". A friend of mine went last summer for her honeymoon and said amazing things about it.
As for the "Spanish Spree" trip,I'm sure I will be talking about it forever too!I would have rather gone on the tour with close friends of mine to share the experience but I'm pretty sure I'll meet plenty of great people once there. I'm not too worried about that.I totally get what you mean about babysitting others. Usually,my problem is always trying to find a come with person,so I've decided to just go for it solo before I have too many responsibilities:P
Sorry with all the questions, but how early did you book your trip and flights?

Hey Vivo,

I booked my flights to Spain about six months in advance. I booked the tour/flights in Nov 05 and departed in May 06. The earlier you book your flights the cheaper they are (usually) and you will have a better selection of flights to choose from. If you have anymore questions feel free to e-mail me at: supervixen101@hotmail.com
I am also on msn messenger.

How much was the "Hotel El Puerto" that you stayed at? Is everywhere really expensive in Ibiza for accommodation? I am looking at doing the spanish spree in August/September and will probs stay an extra couple of days.

Hey Hosko, I asked Contiki when I booked my trip as to how much it would cost for extra nights at the El Puerto hotel after the Spanish Spree tour would be over and the rates in august are 190$ CDN/night. I checked out a few hotels in Playa D'En Bossa(wanted to be closer to the beach then directly in the city) and the prices were somewhat similar or a little less.It really depends on your budjet and what you are looking for really. Check out Venere.com, the prices were cheaper than what I found on Expedia.ca....Good luck!

Hey Caroline22,

We're doing the Spanish Spree at the end of May and staying a couple extra days in Ibiza. You went in May right? Were all the clubs open, the websites seem to suggest they dont open until June.

So now I have it all booked. I will be staying extra days, June 14-17, in Ibiza (a friend of mine will be flying in from Barcelona the send 3 of those with me).
Instead of continueing our stay with the hotels through Contiki we've chosen to stay here:

I'm excited. Smiler
