One of the reasons why i picked this date was because it was a "for sure" departure date and this also is best time for me to leave this joint!!! Yes i am going alone too! its the only way to go by yourself and i dont have to worry about any of my friends with me. i have never done a contiki tour before. some of my friends that have done one before have said it was amazing and so worth it!!! i cant wait to meet everyone elso on the spanish  spree! so where are you from in the us? im from Vancouver, BC.i live on the outskrits of vancouver (farm lands!)  When are you going to be in Madrid? are you leaving early and staying for a couple days in Madrid before the tour starts? i will be in Paris, France from aug 13 to the 18th of aug. and then i train into Madrid that night. Are you traveling after the contiki tour???

I just confirmed my flight and tour - at first I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend the money this summer on a big trip but then I figure why not?!  Life is too short!

I have also heard good things about Contiki so hopefully this trip will be good.  I am going alone as well.  Are going to room with someone? I put down that I would share a room to reduce the costs.

I'm from Southern Cal - Orange County.  Near Disneyland if you are not too familiar with Orange County.  I'm 33 years old and work in public relations/marketing.  I enjoy traveling alone because like you I don't want to worry about my friends and can do what I want!

I am going to Madrid early, I arrive on the 20th so I have some extra time and then I'm staying 1 extra day in Barcelona.  I can't wait!

Hey there Sandra!  I am also going on this Spanish Spree - super excited...except that I haven't received my passport yet.  Anyways - my name is Lena, am 31 years old and I live in Los Angeles (weho to be exact).  So we are neighbors for sure!  I work in HR for a non profit and this will be the first REAL vacation I have taken.  I too am traveling alone since my friends are too flaky to plan like me and I felt like it was either now or never..so its now!  My goal is to soak up the sun, fun and sangria!  Two weeks to enjoy the sights, tours and clubs will do me right!!

Hey Lena!  Yes we are close - and I have friends out that way.  What non-profit do you work at?  I often work with non-profits - I work for a PR agency called Euro RSCG Magnet.  Sometimes I have clients from that sector, right now I've been working with the American Cancer Society.

Are you rooming alone or did you ask Contiki to match you with someone? I did so perhaps they will match us if you did too. 

Sounds like we will have a good group of people ready to party!  I'm really excited too and Madrid and Ibiza are the places to definitely have fun!  Do you have a boyfriend?  I'm unattached so hopefully there will be some hot Spanish men in the picture too. haha.  And I speak Spanish so I'll help you out if you want to make a "connection" with someone.  :)

I was just able to squeeze in and be the last person booked on this trip (literally!). As you may have guessed from my handle, my name is Chris and I am from Montreal, Canada. I'm 23 yrs old, and I am travelling alone because of friends suck are also too flaky (anyone see a trend developping here?).

Anyhow, I booked a roundtrip flight from Madrid from the 21st to sept. 5th so I'll have a couple of days after the end of the trip for doing whatever I want. I was thinking Mallorca might be cool to visit, and I could always use a travel buddy!

Hello Contiki travelers!

I'm Andrea (or Andi) from Michigan, and may I remind all of you that we've got less than 2 weeks to go! I'm 25 and will be accompanied by boyfriend Warren, age 27, HOWEVER there's a problem I'm hoping maybe Sandra or Amanda could help me out with? Well I accidentally booked his ticket to arrive in Madrid 1 day before me and the start of the tour and I'm our Spanish translator/trip planner so he's a little clueless! Are you guys staying at the Hotel Prado (where the tour starts) beforehand or somewhere else? Well he'd love to have someone to hang out with on the 20th if either of you will be there...if not than we'll see you all soon, Ive enjoyed reading your postings! I'm a pharmacist, recently graduated and Warren is South African and a structural engineer living in London but soon to be living with me in Ann Arbor to attend Univ of Michigan next year! We've done Contiki before, European Vista back in '04, its so much fun that we had to do another! There's the basics...hasta pronto! A
