Okay this is an extremely random question, but I was wondering, with the Fox Glacier hikes, and especially the fly-in fly-out ones where you spend the whole time on top of the glacier (they last around 4 hours+) are there any public toilets or restroom facilities? I really doubt it, as it is a giant frozen river, but really, what happens if you need to pee? 4 hours is a long time!! Anyone who has been on one, I would love to hear your experiences...
When i went to Fox last year with my family we did the hike that is in the contiki optionals and quite frankly i was more worried about passing out then wanting to pee lol. They say that you need to be reasonably fit (i thought i wasn't THAT bad) and i didn't make it on to the glacier lol. So i am going to do the fly in one when i go in August. It's the hike up that kills you. Lots of steps, not normal size steps really big ones.
I don't remember seeing any toilets in the carpark though.
No toilet facilities on the glacier. It's just ice all around. I don't remember anyone needing to use the bathroom though (even the ones on our trip with super tiny bladders, who we always had to make special stops for so they could pee in the bushes).
