I looking at booking a contiki tour for NZ next year and am planning on travling by myself. Im a bit worried that no one else will be travling on their own.
Has anyone got any advice for a young single girl who will be travling solo and not going to know any one?

Don't worry about travelling by yourself, majority of the tour are solo travelers. I find it hard to meet new people as i can be quite shy, but last year i did great britian and southern ireland and our group was quite close. I made some really good friends. So don't worry, just get out there with an open mind, be yourself and have heaps and heaps of fun!

I travelled solo with Contiki last year to Egypt and it was awesome! You meet so many new people, I've kept in touch with most of them!

Where/When are you going to NZ? I am doing the Scenic Southern (Anti-Clockwise) in Sept after I complete the Bridge to Reef tour in Aust.

I am going to NZ in October, but due to the time of the scenic southern being in the middle of my trip, I wont be able to do contiki.

I would like to, coz then there'd be company, but yeah ill be doing it alone.

Im sure a lot of people go there alone and then make friends and go from there. Thats what ive done before when ive been interstate.

I'm doing the Grand Explorer Auckland to Christchurch on October 28 and will be on my own. Looking forward to it though as haven't ever been travelling by myself and can't wait to meet everyone

I just got back from the grand explorer and did it solo as did 70% of the bus!! it's the best way to do it and meet new friends etc. Don't worry about it at all! you will have an amazing time!

Im doing the Grand Explorer starting 8th of October! I might have a friend coming with me though so Im not alone on this one but I have been by myself before and its really not that bad..pretty much everyone on your tour is solo so you make friends quickly and they're friends for life :-)

Hey my name is Amanda i'm also thinking about going to nz next year solo i'm thinkin of goin on the grand explorer in february on the 9th till the 23rd reverse christchurch to auckland. Looks like it will be a good tour.This will be my first time travelling solo aswell. Is this the tour your thinking of doing?
