Hi i just had a friend come back from an europe tour and he said that a few places they stayed at people got bitten by bed bugs. Has anyone come across this in NZ?

A friend of mine and I possibly had some bed bugs. It was a at some small house hostel in Hamilton. But we also emailed them to warn them, they said they did not find a thing. Could have been something else, we did visit White Island that same day.
