I just bought my ticket and should arrive in Madrid at 8 am...I think we will be meeting with the group in the afternoon.

I was looking at Explorer1130271's comment and it looks like all of you are on the same tour. It's just that the ppl showing May 8th as a start date, the marketing folks at contiki included the traveling flying date as part of the tour. Everyone meets up from everyone on this tour on May 9th.

Wow, the contiki person that helped me book this trip did not tell me the tour starts on the 9th. I guess I need a place to stay the night of the 8th as I already got my ticket.

Happy to assist, on the contiki USA site click on the May 8th date "view itinerary" then after that look for a link underneath the calendar that says "view all itinerary days". That will list your itinerary. You can see that it details the 8th as "Jet off to the trip of a lifetime awaiting you in Europe!" what basically means is spend your whole day on a 8-13 hr flight. For those lucky ppl who's holiday/vacation started early the May 8th date does not really concern them. Look at the The May 9th date description and you see that is when you check into your hotel.
