My boyfriend and I are hoping to get the time off work, as well, I'm hoping to have my passport back so that we can book this trip.

It's a tad bit expensive, we were hoping to go in March but we couldn't get it together. Anyhow, It's my dream to see Italy... how about you?

And I'd also like to party in SPAIN!!

No kidding! I am so excited...I know it will be an amazing time. I am not sure where you are from Canada, but I'm in Ontario and renewed my Passport in Hamilton and it only took 10 days. I hope you guys can go -- It would be great to meet you!

I'm from Kamloops in BC. I grew up in Toronto. Things move much faster there. Here in Kamloops we have to send our papers away to the "big city, Vancouver" LOL. It takes weeks.

Anyhow, when are you getting married? Make sure to tell your travel agent that way you get free upgrades and little gifts at the hotels and stuff.  Well our hotel does that anyhow!! It might make the hotels in Rome better ( I was reading on here that they are pretty BAD).

How old are you guys? Freddie and I are 26+28. Young at heart. LOL.

Hi there,
We are getting married in April, so this tour is our honeymoon. I am really excited, especially that there are people going. We are both 25. When we booked it, the agent was saying they may not go if there arent enough people. I was getting panicky. So great to meet people though, I am getting really excited now!
Talk to you soon and take care

I believe we'll be leaving from Vancouver. And going to Amsterdam. I'm getting edgy, I'm thinking about booking our tickets soon as I don't want this trip to leave without me. I'm also don't want to lose the deposit if my passport doesn't get here. I'm stressing out!!! LOL. I think because this trip is a go they have flights the day of. When are you going?

I'm from Toronto.

I'm on a flight to Munich.  It's actually a cheap flight for anyone planning on booking this trip.

Hi there,
We are flying through Heathrow to Madrid. We are both very excited as it is coming so soon!
It's so neat being able to talk to people before we go.... We will have to meet up when we arrive in Madrid. Any last-minute travel advice?
Looking forward to meeting you all soon, take care,
~Katie

I don't have any last minute travel advice,but I've started gathering all the travel things I can find. Like little mouthwashes and whatnot. I wander what the weather will be like over there? I hope it's not rainy all the time. I'm so friggin old my bones would be aching like crazy. I'm going to be on that plane for nearly 24 hours because of the time change, isn't that insane?  We're really going to feel that on the way back Frowner

What time do you guys get there? Where did you get your medical insurance from? Are you doing travel cheques, or having Euros, or both?

Anyhow, let's keep in touch before we go guys!!! Char

Hey Char, Katie, Succession and anyone else on Med. Highlights April 28 - May 11, 2006;

I just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Mike, and my fiancee  ******ina and I will be on the tour with you next month.  Sounds like we've got a great group of Canadians couples so far!  We're very excited and looking forward to meeting you.

******ina and I are from the greater Toronto area, but we have been living in Victoria, BC, for the last two years, so maybe we have a bit in common with both the east coast and the west coast crowd...

I work as a travel agent, so I'm very familiar with Contiki, and Western Europe in general, and let me just say that you guys have picked a great tour and a great time of year to go.  The weather will be perfect, not too hot, but definitely to too cold, and we'll be travelling well before the peak tourist season.

Char. in regards to the questions you asked;

1) Insurance - an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE!!  The best policy that you can buy is the RBC Travel Insurance policy, available at any Flight Centre location.  Consider a deluxe package, which will cover not only the medical portion but also any unforseen costs due to a flight delay, family emergency back home, or even lost or delayed baggage.  (Feel free to ask me more about this...)

2) Money - Travellers cheques are one option, if you don't mind waiting to find a place where they are accepted.  However, check with your bank to see if your debit card is accepted in Europe - if it is then you will be able to access your account through any ATM.  This will be the most convenient option, however both your bank and the machine may charge a service fee, so withdrawing larger amounts, less often, will keep the costs down.

Anyway, blah, blah, you can tell I'm at work today, write back!
