Hi,


I am a Canadian female travelling solo - who is looking at booking this trip. I am thinking about going a day early to Rome and staying an extra day in Madrid after the tour - is anyone going to go early to Rome/stay a day later in Madrid? 

I am from Edmonton, but will be flying through Toronto - maybe some of us Canucks will be on the same plane.........

I'm on the Med H'lights (reverse) tour starting in Rome on the 20th Aug.
This tour should be fantastic - cant wait to get there. Doing the tour solo as well but meeting up with my sister in Spain.

There is another message string here started by czechlette (Mon) who is also from Canada. I'm from Melbourne Australia. There are a few others from Melbourne as well (Susan and Kendall - Kenny79)...  You may want to check out the other msg post.

I will be in Rome from about the 18th and hope to stay in Madrid till the 3rd of September.

I was unable to book an extra day in my Madrid on the end, but I am going to come to Rome a day early.  Do you want to meet around happy hour on the 20th?

Anyone else going to be in a day earlier?

Hi Lisa,

Great to hear that you will be in Rome early. I am planning on booking the accomadation this week. Do you have any idea about where we will be staying with the tour. I would prefer to book the extra days at the same place so I dont have to move around. I have read that its high season during July and August so probably a good idea to book early.

It'd be great to meet up on the 20th. I am hoping to do something during the day. Let me know what your plans are. I'm on cranasin@hotmail.com.

Hey Chami,

I land around noon - but I will have been travelling for nearly a day, so I will probably need a little down time - but I will be good to go by 5pm.  The next day we can hit the town early to check stuff out as the group doesn't meet until dinner time. 

Btw, I had my travel agent book with Contiki the same hotel.  I don't know the name or anything as I don't have my documents yet.  If you book with the same hotel they will still come get you at the airport - even if you come a day or so early.  Can't really go wrong with that...........

i'm also a female solo traveller from U.S. (Los Angeles specifically) on this trip.  This will b my 2nd Contiki trip.  I went on Euro Disc. last year.  I don't think i will b staying early or later in Rome or Madrid b/c i'm flying in from London.  I'm trying to book a flight from LA to Boston the week before b/c i have to attend a wedding in Boston and then Boston to London to spend few days w/ my cousin then joining the tour in Rome.  Hopefully i can make all the necessary arrangements.
