I'm from the Gold Coast in QLD Australia. How about you? 2 weeks on Friday. I'm starting to get really nervous. This may sound like a silly question but are you taking a suitcase or backpack???? And what sort of clothes? What are we going to need?

Also, do you have a transfer from Madrid airport to the hotel in Madrid? Where are you from? What time are you arriving at Madrid Airport?

Hey,

Yeah I know, only two weeks left. I'm starting to get a little nervous myself.

I'm from Ontario, Canada. I think I am going to take a suitcase. I think it will be a little easier. As for what kind of clothes I'm bringing, I don't have a clue. How about you?

Unfortunately I do not have a direct flight so I will be flying to Germany then Madrid. I am suppose to arrive in Madrid Saturday at noon. How about you?

Have you received you package yet?

Hi,
Yeah i received my package a couple of days ago. It actually says in there that no metal framed back packs are allowed anyway so suitcase it is. Your right. It's probably easier anyway. Suitcase has to adhere to certain measurements also. It's all in the contiki pack.
I'm arriving at around 3pm i think on the saturday. I fly via singapore then Milan. Huge flight. Jet lag is going to be hell. I don't have a transfer from the airport to the hotel so i guess i will just get a cab. That's the part tat is making me more nervous than anything.
I've had a good think about the clothing situation and have decided that since we have a 20kg baggage limit it's best to just stick to not taking too much. I'll be taking a couple of pairs of shorts, a couple of casual dresses, singlets, a couple of pairs of jeans, a light weight dressy dress for the casino in france, a dressy evening top or 2, 1 pair of heels, thongs and comfy flat shoes. I don't think the weather will be overly hot. May get a little cool in the evenings.
My name is Jo by the way. I'm really getting excited now and can't wait to meet everybody.

Hi Anks....Welcome aboard. It's great to have someone who can answer questions. As you can see so far there are just the 2 of us on this forum and neither of us have done a contiki tour. So do we pack really light do you think? It looks like so far i am the only one arriving at madrid a little later on in the arvo. I wish i could meet up with someone at the airport as that part of the whole trip is what's making me most nervous. So how old is everyone so far? I'm 32. Hoping i'm not going to be the oldest traveller. Not that it really matters i suppose. Anks, what was the 1st contiki trip you did? How many people usually travel on these tours?

Nice to meet you Jo!

I have not received my package yet. I hope I get it soon. I think I will just cab it from the airport to the hotel. I think it is the easiest. Are you planning on doing a little sightseeing when you arrive in Madrid? (before we meet up with our group).By the way I am 25 years old.

We only have 12 days left! I'm so pumped

Hey Jo and KS! Good to hear from you...

About your question - I pack fairly lightly. I plan on re-using some clothes on a couple of days. You will probably also get a chance to do laundry occasionally on the trip. Dont forget to bring a light jacket for the evenings or rainy days though. Also, remember a semi-formal dress for monaco.

My first trip was European Magic. There were about 40 or so people on the bus. Dont worry about the size of the group...people tend to form smaller groups for sightseeing, lunches, dinners etc. anyways.

The average age was probably around 25-26. I wouldnt worry too much about age either. Everyone got along really well on my trip and some of the my best trip friends were much older than me.

KS, I have received my package...got it 2-3 days after I booked the trip! My flight is at 6 pm on the 23rd...I am flying through Amsterdam to Madrid.

By the way, I am 26.

Hi guys,

Ta for the info Anks. It's good to know i'm doing the right thing by packing lightly.
Just a quick question, are either of you 2 travelling on further anywhere after the tour ends? I'm considering staying on an extra week and seeing a bit of southern italy while i'm there. Feels like it'd be a big shame to miss the beauty of the Amalfi Coast while in Italy!!!!
