My friend and I are not on the Grand Southern but we are doing the Eastern Discovery that your Grand Southern trip will join up with! I have been waiting for someone to put that they are doing the trip.

we havent decided exactly on dates but we are thinking of having maybe 3 nights in LA beforehand and maybe 2 in NYC after the tour.

My friend and i are going to do the grand southern in december but we are having trouble deciding whether to do LA to NY with you guys or to start at NY to LA on the 18th as it is a preferred departure.

What made you guys choose to do it this way? Any opinions you have would be greatly appreciated,

Good to also see you on the tour! All 3 of my tour party decided to do LA, beacuse we wanted to see LA before the tour starts.

It be good if you decide on this tour, the more people the better .

I'm Melissa, I'm 22, live outside of Brisbane (North by about 30 mins) and am coming on this tour! Woo. Can't wait. Would love to chat to anyone about plans... I'm doing an LA Explorer for the few days before our trip, and then staying in NY after we finish, going up to Niagara Falls, maybe hitting Canada and Seattle if I can afford it. Really excited to be doing it.

If anyone is staying in NY after... I'm looking at the Best Western Presidential Hotel in NY, its cheaper than the Contiki hotel to stay in and I have a good recommendation from a friend. I've also heard that hotel QT (the name has changed now I think) is good. But I still can't decide if I should stay in a hotel, or backpackers. Any thoughts?
