I have done a mental trial pack heaps but as for an actual trial pack I just have things laying around or in my suitcase haha

I am getting in on Monday 25th at about 9.45am so I am guessing about lunchtime or so before I make it to Anaheim. I am staying at the Best Western Stovals Inn. I will be at the meeting the night before I think it will be great to meet our tour manager and driver and everyone that will be on our tour!

Hey Lauren ! im getting into LA at around 5.00ish on Tuesday 26th May, so i think we should get to Anaheim around 7.00ish maybe depending on everything going smooth. When are you getting in ?
o.k i have done a trial pack... ha.....but it wasnt a full on everything in there pack, it was a 3/4 trial pack...i will prob pack the day/night before as im better under pressure. I stil have my bag half packed in the spare room. I have to change a few things around in my bag, think now i will take 2 pairs of jeans instead of one, things like that., Cant believe how quickly time is flying.... will be great to finally meet everybody in person !

Lauren, I get to Anaheim on the 25th, around lunch time as well. Staying at Stovalls. Spending 2 days before that in Hollywood at a place called Hollywood Vermont/Sunset Travelodge. I'll be going to the pre tour meeting.
I guess i'll pack the day I fly out.

i arrive on the 23rd in the morning. we're doing disneyland, universal studios and a day in hollywood before the tour.

Do you think it will be cheaper/easier to take my mobile or use the contiki phone card? whats everyone doing?

I'm taking a US phone that I got last time I was over in the states, Only cost $20US I think. It was a prepay which was very handy. I'm just gong to see if I can top it up when I get into Hollywood. I had a look at the contiki phone card and decided i'd rather take my US phone. No way i'd put my phone on roaming. Think it costs 80cents to send a txt. See if your phone would work in the States and think about getting a US prepaid sim card for while you are there. There is nothing better than sending your friends back home a txt at 4 in the morning their time to say you've just done something fantastic.

hey lauren. im taking my mobile as i took it last time, i just use it for smsing. im with telstra so its the same as sending sms in australia, no extra cost. but i will use the contiki phone card or buy a phone card over there to ring home. i only take my mobile as its handy for my family to contact me by sms if they need to as they are looking after our house and zoo (we have heaps of animals ha).

thanks guys your always such a great help. hey i have a stupid qs for those who have been to america before, its probably the silliest qs ever but i need to know. so many people are telling me that i cant take toiletries such as makeup, shampoo etc into america that they confiscate everything on arrival even whats in your check in luggage. is this true??

I have been to America once before and nothing like that happened to me. The main restrictions where that all liquids on the plane in your carry on luggage all needed to be under 100ml and when you pass through customs they like them to be in a plastic ziplock bag.
I think they only thing that they might have a problem with is unmarked medication or perhaps bottles of unmarked liquid.

Yeah dont stress too much about it! America's customs can be strict but really no stricter than Australia is. As long as you declare anything you think they might have a problem with you will be fine. The little card they give you to fill out lets you know what you will need to declare
