Just booked this tour for next year. Going solo and looking foward to it. I've done the solo Contiki thing in Europe before and absolutely loved it. REALLY keen on having the time of my life (again!!!). Just thought I'd see whose planning on going 'n' stuff. Wanna make sure the party bus is gonna be choc-a-bloc full of people! If you're thinking about coming, don't wait, just book it! (You owe it you yourself right??? )

My name's Nikki, 24 female from Victoria, Aust. I'm planning on doing this tour 30th June 07. I haven't booked anything as yet, because starting a new job in the new year, and need to make sure it's ok if I take 5 weeks off work!!! I started budgeting for this trip ages ago though and want to book asap. I'm really looking forward to it! I'm very much a party animal, and can't wait to live up the vegas nightlife!! And anywhere else!! Looking at staying in New York for 3-4 days afterwards as well. I have a friend who is ummming and ahhhing about going, but I think she might pull out, so I might be going on this trip solo. Let me know of your plans. It would be good to keep in touch with someone else going on this tour.

Sounds like a plan stan! Hope you can book it too! Apparently it's mainly Aussies on these particular tours (the USA ones), but the Aussie contingent on my last tour were hilarious so I figure the more the merrier! If you've got reservations about going solo, don't, because if you have a look at the posts on other tours all the soloists have a great time. I had some ummers and ahhers as well and just went for it. I promise it's the best thing you'll ever do!

Rambling a little now... 3-4 days in NY afterwards is the plan for me too. Then I was going to go to Toronto for a few days after that just so I can tick Canada off the list. Also it's not far from Niagra Falls which is a must see apparently. Then after that I'm moving to England for good, which has me terrified and excited all at the same time!

And here I was thinking I'd stopped the rambling...

Good to hear from you. Only a million days to go! Let me know when you've booked and I think you'll be the second person on the tour *ha ha*.

mah name is taynah... i was plannin on goin in mid or late 2008... but by readin more into the trip i want to go sooner... i tried to get my friends in comin but all pullin out.. so i may hav to go solo... but i heard its more fun that way.. so i may jump on the same bus as all in june 2007... hope to hear frm u!!!

Can't wait for this tour! As I said before, waiting to start my new job before I ask for time off, but I think I will scream if they don't let me have time off!!!!! I've been looking at this tour for awhile and, the same as you was thinking in a couple of years time. but after reading about it, and messages from other people that have been on the trip, I don't think I can wait any longer! i would go now if I had the money! It would be great to keep in touch if we are going to be going on the same tour. At this stage I am going solo, depending on a friend and if she makes up her mind!
Can't wait for this trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The party bus is slowly getting bigger. Brilliant! Personally, I think solo is the best way to go. You don't have someone dragging you down, and you can do whatever you like whenever you like. It's the only way to go!

Im Scott from NZ, 26 male.

I got made redundant from my job about 3 weeks ago and was worried i wouldn't be able to get the time off (Just like you Nikki). The good news is my new bosses are more than happy for me to do it... wooohooo. I'll be booking later next month by the looks of things so im on board and solo.

My plans are... 3-4 days in LA before the tour, then 3-4 days in NYC after the trip then to Chicargo to visit family for a week then back home, about 6weeks worth!!!!!!!

So people feel free to message me etc.. lets get this party started!!!!! 30th June 2007 is going to rock....

We meet again! That's great news about your bosses being so kind! Last you said that you were going to wait until 2008. Great to see you can make it on this tour.
I went for my job interview today for a job next year, so I'll see how I go. If I get it then I'll have to wait a bit before I ask for time off. But I'm a teacher, and legally we are allowed to take leave without pay for anything up til a year. I'll just have to see what the principal says. That's if I get it!

Anyway, I can't wait for the day I have booked this tour. Looks like some pretty cool people already on it. Keep in touch everyone, and c u all in about 35 weeks!!! Seems like light years away.

My name is Tammy - I'm 23 year old from Australi. All things going well I'm hoping to get on this tour also for the 30th of June 2007. At this stage I've barely crossed the border of Queensland and will be going solo on this tour also - so can't wait for the experience (especially the 4th of July where we can have double the celebrations : ). Be great to keep in touch with everyone and hear everyone's ideas. I'm hoping to do a few more days in New York also and hopefully get in Niagara falls.

Scott, I'm defintitely staying in NY for a few days after the tour too. I just remember getting back from my last tour in London and collapsing on my bed, thankful that I wasn't one of the people jumping on a plane the next day. You need a couple of days to recoup (and probably sightsee as well).

Tammy, I'm definitely hitting Niagra Falls and Toronto after the trip as well. And yes, genius for pointing out the 4th of July celebrations as well. Apparently we'll be in Cortez Colorado that night but I have no idea what it's going to be like there cos I've never heard of the place.

Anywho, good luck to those who need it. Hope the people who need it get the time off...

yes, I am another one with a birthday on this trip! 7th of July in Dallas I think. Should be excellent and CAN'T wait to have a bday on a contiki tour, I've heard it's great and everyone celebrates with you.

Was just wondering if of those who were planning on staying in New York a couple of days afterwards whether use are going to do it as a tour (ie the Big Apple Explorer) or plan it solo?
