I was starting to get worried i was going to be on a month long tour by myself-lol.
Im going solo from Sydney & its only 4 months away but i cant wait that long!!

I'm hoping to book the Southern Adventure tour (first 13 days of the Great Southern) this week! Just waiting to hear back with availability/final price from a travel agent

Only found out Contiki did USA tours today and so glad I did - it's a much better option than the hodge podge itinerary I was thinking of!

Which direction are you guys doing it in? I'm going LA-New Orleans. Will probably hang around in New Orleans for a couple of days after.

Have you guys done Contiki before? I'm not entirely sure what to expect since I don't think my friends' experiences in Europe are all that relevant :P

Why arent you doing the full Grand southern tour?You will miss out on soooooo much!
Im going La-NY on i think 3rd June.

I cant wait and ive only heard great things..plus its summer-woohooooo.

Ive never done Contiki b4 and im going solo so its all a bit new.

If you can manage to get the extra few dollars do the full tour-otherwise u might regeret it!

Hey Josh,

It's not so much the money as the fact I've already been to Florida Although the itinerary for the GS tends to coincide a lot with my (already mapped out) plans for after the SA tour!

I'm doing the SA as an alternative to flying to Phoenix and doing the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley from there. Less hassle and I get to see a few extra places - LA I can do without but Vegas, Dallas and Memphis should be cool.

Yeah i dont understand why many people have not responded to this date..Its peak season..summer!
There seems to be a few on the trip following ours though-oh well looks like we have the bus to ourselves..

This is going to be my 2nd contiki, last year i went to Europe and done a 45day camping, it was so much fun, i really reccomemnd that one!!

im staying in the best western Stovalls inn in La before the tour i think that is the contiki one.

Before i went to europe last year there was only 2 people who were on this site who were on my tour but there turned out to be like 48 people on it, so hopefully we dont have anything to worry about, for it to be cancelled!

I may have another girl to add to our list my mate becks who lives in brisbane might be coming on it as well, but shes undecided yet, fingers crossed for her.

As for tips i can only think of 1 right now and that is, if you see somthing you like buy it, dont think too much about it, i wish i had brought way more stuff, but was worried about not having enough money but i ended coming home with $4000!!! i should of come home with a $4000 credit bill!.

Deanna, seems we have something in common already Shopping in the us is awesome - just glad i can take 32kg on the way out!

The hotel is the BW Stovall's Inn, at least that's what Contiki told me! I'm staying the night before as well. I'll probably be hitting up the Disney Downtown District for dinner that night if anyone else is keen. It's walking distance from the hotel.

Hi guys, ive just booked on the 2 June tour. I am a 30yo travel agent from adelaide. Not sure if ill spend 2 days in LA before tour or go to SFO first. Ill probly be jumping off the tour on the last day in washington.
