Just wondering if anyone is looking at doing the Grand Southern in June/July of next year? I am looking at going, no definite booking as yet. Let me know if anyone is interested, should be an awesome trip!

Hi hanz83. Yes, i am a very nice girl, maybe we could hang out on this trip!!! Anyway, cut the crap, have you asked that boyfriend of urs if you are allowed to come yet? I think you should just be telling him that you are going. I am going to book this baby within the next wk, whether ur coming or not! it should be unreal, once in a lifetime kinda thing, so i think you just say, I'm going, and there's nothing you can do about it! Anyway, let me know how you go.

I've been to America once before, back in 2004. i was there in the summer months and it was beautiful. I went on the Big Apple explorer with contiki, and you don't need to worry about not knowing anyone, as everyone treats you as their friend on the first day there! It will be summer in June, so be prepared for some very hot weather! If you would like to know anything else, I might be able to help you. Can't wait for this tour, should be awesome!!

Hey Nikwarto, yeah i could use some advice from u, do u think summer is the best time to go?? i am 21 so hoping to find a few people around my age too, alose looking to stay in new york for a week after the tour is over, what your thoughts on that?

It really depends on what kind of weather you like. If you like it hot, then go in the summer. I like the summer better than winter, so that's why I want to go then. Apparently it is cooler in the southern states, not much though. And apparently it is really hot in Las Vegas, like 48 degrees!
I was in California and then over to New York for about 5 days. Both were just right, nice and hot. I recommend the big apple explorer. it takes you all over the city and you get to see some good things without the hassle of having to worry about it yourself. If you do that tour I suggest you stay for a few days afterwards to go back to what you have seen and see some more sights. i didn't allow for that, and wish i had've. Me and a friend are looking at going in June/July and are thinking of spending a week at each end of the tour. We aren't sure if we are going to go from LA-NYC or NYC-LA. what were you thinking of doing? We are 23 and 24. But act like 21 year olds! There will be plenty of people on the tour around 21 so you have nothing to worry about.

Well ill definatly be doing the LA - NYC coz i want to see a lot of New york, but i think i will be going to LA a couple of days before the tour so i can see that city too. I was thinking of doing the NYC tour, but if i make some good friends on the contiki tour it would be awesome if we all hung out in new york for a week and do it ourselves, i dont know what to do?? what u reckon?

It's probably best to do the New York tour as you get to see everything without having to worry about organising it yourself, that's why I liked it. And then you can always stay a few days longer to see more. that's what I would do. i think we will be staying for about 5 days after the Grand Southern tour, nothing definite yet though. there will be lots of people that stay on after your tour though I reckon, not many people will go straight home, unless they have another tour booked somewhere.

Yeah thats what i will probably do..maybe we'll end up on the same tour together. that would be awesome, especially since ull be in NYC 5 days after, we could jusr hang out. I went to the travel agent and they answered a lot of my questions, all i gotta do now is make the move and book it. scary tho, but i really wanna go so ill probs do it. when do u think u will go? and u are traveling with a friend??

Im lookin at doing the grand southern in June or July next year (07). I have been to the states before in July 2003, was mint, hot and hot and ummm yea hot. Yes i can confirm that Vegas does get to 48 deg, so good!!!!!!

Have been through the central US, so going to try the Southern states, yehaa cowboy hahaha.

Hi Hooze1, I was looking at either doing the LA-NYC tour starting 30th June or the NYC-LA tour starting June 15th. Not sure which one yet. my birthday is in both of those tours and I think I'd like to have my birthday in Las Vegas, so that means the NYC-LA one. But the 30th June tour fits in better with school holidays, and I'm a teacher, so that would suit me better, but my birthday will be in Dallas.... Either way I'll probably be staying around 4-5 days in each city at the start and finish, and also thinking of heading back to Vegas for a couple of days... depending on my savings! Anyway, what tour were you thinking of doing? I think I will be travelling with a friend. She hasn't confirmed anything, but hopefully she will be coming. If not, I'll be on my lonesome.

Ill definatly be doing the LA - NYC, not sure on the date yet. now i may not even go next yr. if i go next yr after june it means ill only have 1 yr left of my building apprenticeship, so im thinking maybe i wait till i finish that then go, then i can stay for as long as i want instead of being limited with 4 weeks, plus it will be a good way to celebrate me completing a building apprenticeship!! but i really wanna go soon haha ill find it hard to wait another hole yr!!
