I've finally booked my trip today for GS LA to New York departing Jan 26th...
So looking forward to it. It's gonna be a great trip...

I posted earlier on one of the other boards but i'll post again....I'm also booked on this trip I'm Lisa , 23 from Bris, I arrive in LA on the 20th Jan and i'm doing the LA Scene prior to the tour, after the Tour i'm doing the Big Apple Explorer before i head off on a Caribbean Cruise with my cousin!

I'm going on this tour as well. I'm getting in on the 24th and hiring a car for the day. Will be going to disneyland on the 25th and will start the tour on the 26th. I'm staying at the Contiki hotel in Anaheim, more convenient that way.

I'm 24 from Melbourne and I'm totally looking forward to Vegas! I'm also going by myself, it's the only way to go, you get to meet people and not have to worry about others trying to save up!

Sounds great! I was totally thinking of doing the same thing hiring a car...Driving around the city and maybe up and down the coast to San Diego maybe....

I will probabaly just spend the other day chilling out at the beach because the hostel is 1 street away from the beach......but will head over to the hotel in Anaheim that night so I don't have far to walk in the morning

Im 25 from Canberra and also going by myself. It should be great and there'll be heaps of other travelling solo anyway

I did 3 months of contiki tours around Europe last year by myself and had an absolute blast! So yea, i'm doing this trip again - i'm staying in the Contiki resort as well, and i'm going to be going to do the LA Scene tour for 3 days and then Disneyland in the other 3 days prior to the Tour!

Whats going to be soo cool about this trip is our First night is Auz day - so we can have a HUGE party in Vegas on the town I so can't wait!!

Totally didn't think about Aus Day. That will be awesome spending it in Vegas!!....Are you over 21?

Where abouts is everyone staying after the tour in NY?
I don't think I can afford to stay at the Beacon (because I'll be staying an extra 5 nights) but I've been looking at a few other hotels/hostels & stuff that are in or near Times Square (which would be alot of fun & a great location) & they are about $30 per night...If interested people staying on after tour might want to share a room...just a thought

Also for others thinking about the same thing but don't want to stay in a hostel, there is an awesome hotel called "Pod Hotel" which is in Midtown (best location to stay).I stayed in last time I was in NY & it was reasonably priced & in a fantastic location (close to 5th Ave, Empire State Building, Central Park etc). I'm also thinking about staying here again.
They've actually renovated and modernised it now & it's cool. They've got all diff. types of room but you can get single rooms with mod cons etc for min $89 per night.

Heya folks! Ralph from Singapore here. I'm 19 this year, and I will be in US for approximately 3 months as well. Prior to this trip, I will be doing a Hawaiian Stopover, and spending about a week in Las Vegas alone doing high-thrill adventures. I might be also going on the Wild Western prior to this as well - still waiting for confirmation. If anybody is a high-thrill seeker, do tag along with me. I'm currently travelling alone.

Sounds great! When do you get in? I get in on the 24th, so if you wanna hitch a ride with me I'm more than happy to accommodate! :P

You are better off staying at Anaheim the night before, mainly because we have a tour meeting then, so then you don't have to get there, go to the hostel and have to come back again for departure! I'm lazy so I decided it would be easier to just stay at Anaheim.

Not long to go now, really looking forward to it!

I will be staying in Santa Monica for 2 nights because I love it out there and there's so much to do. But then transfer to the hotel in Anaheim the night before (on the 25th) so I don't have to worry about getting up super early the next morning.

If your interested in getting the car on the 25th that would be cool because I could always check out of the hostel in the morning, drive around all day then head back to the hotel with you in the evening....let me know what you think.....I'm easy either way.

What are your plans after tour in NYC?

I'm getting the car as soon as I land basically, but will be having it for a couple of days. Basically I will have it on the 24th and 25th and hand it in in Anaheim after that, haven't booked it just yet, but will in the next few weeks.

I'm happy to do Disneyland on the 24th instead of the 25th and cruise around then, either way I'm not fussed at all.

As for NY, I'm staying at the Hotel Beacon until the 20th then flying home, but will chill and explore those few days that I am there.

If your happy to drive around on the 25th that would be awesome. You could always come and check out Santa Monica before heading elsewhere. There are lots of nice places to see. What are your thoughts on places you want to see. Are they just in LA? Or would u be interested driving down to San Diego?

Its getting very exciting now! Leecy, good to see your still planning on renting the car, is it still ok if I catch up with you for those days? Would be good if there was a couple of us to drive around in, we could all put in for the cost of the car.
