Hey Hughesy,

Here I was thinking that I was early, just noticed your thread, and ive booked the same tour for 2009 with the NY Explorer afterwards.

I'm going to spend a week or so in LA before the tour starts.

My boyfriend and I are doing this tour too. Planning the specifics this weekend but we're having a couple of days in San Francisco to start with then down to LA, not sure if we're having a couple of days in LA before or after the tour finishes/before we fly back home, Having some days in New York at the end of the tour as well I think!
How old is everyone? Where are you from?

Yep the exchange rate is of some concern to us too. We booked our flights but got a really good deal through STA, also booked our LA accommodation for the few days before the tour, New York accommodation for after the tour, and San Francisco after that.

I'm Lindsay and 24, my other half is Tim who is 25, we're both from Australia. It should be interesting finally meeting up on tour Big Grin

Did anyone else get excited watching Barack Obama's inauguration? Not only will we see the White House, but the sights they were showing during Aretha Franklin's song too: Grand Canyon, Statue of Liberty, Arlington, and then the Golden Gate Bridge (for my boyfriend and I anyway) September can't come quick enough, seriously.

I realised looking at the itinerary that I'll be having my 25th birthday in Texas too, going to be a big night that night me thinks!

Hi, I'll be doing the Eastern Discovery tour which joins the Grand Southern on October 6th in New Orleans (am going to book today). I'll be spending 9 nights in NYC afterwards - have already booked accommodation in the East Village. Smiler

Hi All,

My name is Katrina and i am 24 and live in Rockhampton. I am looking at doing this tour also. I was looking at doing this with my cousin but looks like she won't be doing it. I turn 25 on the tour and am looking at doing 5 days in LA before the tour and then an extra 4 in New york and then a few in San Fran. Does anyone know someone that wants to accompany me in doing this? Don't really want to do it on my own - rather share the experience with someone.

Wow, so many parallels to myself, haha. I'm also turning 25 on tour, doing 5 days in LA, NY and flying over to San Fran afterwards. If we don't meet you on the departure day of the tour maybe you could beforehand if you wanted. We're doing Disneyland and all the LA stuff in the days before the tour.
There's a link to a Facebook group too so you'll see who some of us are if you have Facebook and wanted to join. I'm Lindsay and traveling with Tim, and promise you we're not complete weirdos!

Hi Lindsay, (and Tim)

I am interested in disneyland, universal studios, Knotts Berry Farm, seaworld San Diego and Hollywood Movie Star Experience. - thats just in LA.

My travel agent was looking at flying to brisbane 19 September 09 and leaving also that night. I am first time travelling and overseas and most of all doing it my own - so i'm a bit nervous and really want to do it for my 25th!!! No better birthday present!

I would be gladly to have someone to do it with but at the same time i don't want to intrude.

I'm a but shy at first until i get to know people but once i'm comfortable i'm fine!!

Thanks for the reply Katrina

Ps i joined the facebook group
