I also booked this trip last week. I am getting to LA on 7th June but yet to decide where to stay for two nights before staying at the Kyoto the night before the tour starts. I am also doing the New York explorer after the grand Southern.

I am travelling solo so will be looking to meet a whole heap of new people.

I'll be in LA on 8th June - staying at the Kyoto both nights before tour. Hoping to do the day tour to Universal studios on the 9th.
You can book your pre tour nights with contiki - far cheaper rates.

I was going to do the NY explorer but I'll run out of time - I might change my mind if I manage to get extra leave.

Where are you from? and what are you looking forward to most. I think being in Washington on 4th of july might be cool and may be a highlight of the trip.

I'm from Port Elizabeth, South Africa and I've been planning this trip for a looooong time! Everybody has to do at least 1 epic trip in their lives.

There's quite a few things I'm looking forward to and one of them was 4th July - that should be pretty special! But the other is visiting Graceland (BIG Elvis fan!!) I know, not normal, but hey the dude rocks, you gotta give it to him!? there's actually too many to mention. The whole trip I think will be a blast! Also quite excited to do the Universal Studios tour in LA on the 8th...

Oh, and I've booked the NY explorer! Going all the way there, may as well see as much as I can!

We are looking at booking this tour very soon! It would be my girlfriend and I (both from Mandurah, Western Australia), only a hour from where Paul lives. Also a mate might be joining us from Brisbane.

We are planning a huge trip for next year and we want this tour to be apart of it! I never realised we would be in Washington DC for 4th July. That is very cool!

Think I am most excited about Vegas (I work in Hotel so seeing all these awesome hotels and resorts would be sweet) also Miami, but really I think everywhere the tour stops has something going for it and I cannot wait to see it all!

Has anyone done a Contiki before? We did a tour in Europe early last year and it was awesome. We are still great mates with about 15people from the tour, and 8 of those are actually coming to see us in 2 weeks for a reunion get together (we seem to do it every 6 months) and we are all spread out over Australia so its pretty cool we get to see each other quite often.

We are already booked to do a Contiki tour in Canada before the GS tour, and as for when we will get to LA before the tour starts we are no sure..we will be doing LA earlier on in the trip so we might spend more time somewhere else. LA is awesome though, specially the Hollywood area. We were there about 7 weeks ago and theres so much to see/do. You will love Universal Studios!!

Anyway we will probably book on the 31st October as aparently our travel agent is having a sale on contiki that day! So I will let you know how we go.

I'm James, Chris and Tenielle's friend from Brisbane, Australia that's coming along. Can't wait to go! I'm so over this long wait!

Contiki was so much fun. Made plenty of good friends that I keep in touch with regular and visit interstate. Chris and Tenielle being two of them.

We're not exactly sure what date we will be getting into LA at this stage. We're got like 9 days between our Canadian Rockies Tour and the GS. So we're going to make our way down the West Coast slowly.

So, so far we have 4 Aussie's and a South African. Hope fully more people hope on board too!

Hi everyone,

glad to see that there is now 5 of us and I guess more peoplw will jump on board as we get closer.

I went on a contiki to NZ last year with a friend but I have decided that this time I will go alone.

I am still looking for somewhere to stay for the nights 7th and 8th. Looking at maybe staying near universal studios but everything else is paid for so I can't wait.
