yeh I think I'll definetely do this tour now because as you say the weather will be a bit warmer and also because that way I'll be in NY on the 28th of May when Sex and the City 2 opens! haha

Good to see your coming on the 29th! We're all booked and set to go. Are you guys spending a few nights in LA before the tour? We are planning on staying at the Kyoto for a couple of nights before hand.

I didnt think about the SATC opening! would be so cool to be in NY for that!! I am going to stay of in NY for over a week after the tour, 3days on my own, then i have a friend coming to meet me... You guys going to stay on in NY?

I think i will stay one night before in LA as im doing the whole of California with a friend at the end of my hoilday. I am going to stay in Kyoto as well, i think just easier....

nic are you traveing alone? I think im going to book it this week! pretty excited!

Hi Lizzie yep I'm travelling alone. I will be staying in LA just the one night before the tour (I did the Wild Western in Oct last year so I've done all the LA sights) and then I'll stay in NY either 4 or 5 nights after the tour ends. I'm going to go on www.hotwire.com to get a nice hotel room in NY for cheap! Not sure about the contiki hotel hehe.

thanks for the "hotwire" tip... will check it out. this will be my first time to the States and my first time traveling alone, so kinda nervous.. but good to meet future tour mates here!

i am looking at the best western in NY its like $240us per night inc tax... pretty pricy but only there a couple of nights on my own before my firend comes to meet me. but if i can find somewhere just as good and cheaper that would be better!! The contiki ones in NY are pretty expensive so think i might pass on those...

We are staying in NYC for 3 nights after contiki finishes then heading across to Hawaii for a 3 night stop over. Most people on tour will hopefully stay at the Kyoto the night before so will be cool to meet everyone that night! Not sure on where to stay in NYC after tour finishes though. Might have to choose a bit of luxury after 3 weeks on the road!! Nic what country are you from? Only 228 days to go!! But who's counting......?!

yeh I'm going to find a mystery hotel on hotwire.com somewhere in midtown cenrtral so I'm nice and close to everything.

Has everyone booked their flights yet? I'm looking at V Australia. I can get return for $1600 but earlier that month you can get return for $1200....I might wait a while and see if the prices go down before I book!

I think if people are coming in just one day before then they will stay at Kyoto... think being the tour leaves early in the morning it seems like the best way to go.

The Best western in NY is in the Tribeca area, its rated really well on trip advisor so pretty sure i will stay there..

Booking the tour tommrrow.. Nic haven't booked flights yet... $1600 return isnt to bad.. will go online and have a look at V Australia today..

I'm flying Air New Zealand on the 25th, which seems a roundabout way of going, but I'm from Perth so who cares?? I'm staying for a week in New York at the end of the trip - can't wait. Hopefully I'll see you all in LA.

I just booked this contiki with my mate. Havent booked any flights or accomm before or after the contiki though. We were thinking of going to Hawaii afterwards too! Aussie 4, are you guys booking your Hawaii trip through contiki?

We are from Perth too!! We are flying air new zealand on 24th April and goig via Auckland, its all booked. Our flight to LA with air new zealand was about $980 which is one way. Our Hawaii stopover is all booked and yep we booked through Contiki, seems the easiest and best way to book. Our flight home with jet star from honolulu to perth via sydney was about $750 but hunt around on the net for flights as travel agents are way over priced!
