Hey There,
I did the Ultimate Euro+Egypt last year. It was the best time of my life!!! Egypt is fabulous! If you are up for adventure and are willing to have an open mind about everything, it's fabulous. You can't expect to be staying in 5* places, keep in mind that it is a budget tour. Not saying that you stay in places that are crap, but it's nothing too fancy. A bed, toilet, shower, the essentials!! My tour mates and I were a family by the end of the tour and it was terribly hard to say goodbye. I still talk to most of them on a weekly, if not daily, basis. I would highly recommend this tour over and over again!!! |

I totally agree with Kara-lynn. I went solo leaving last june-august and it was the best summer of my life. We were all friends by the end of the trip and i am doing a contiki in australia this fall and meetin up with some of them. I would definetly suggest the Egypt option. Even though it is a busy week it was definetly worth the effort. i didn't feel like i missed out by going the Egypt option at all over greece.

i went on this trip last year and it was a great experience. I'll be honest and say that egypt was a difficult place to be a tourist..it was not my favourite part of the tour, and i believe a lot of other on the tour felt the same. It was a great place to see once, but I would never go back. This is quite a fast paced tour, you see a lot of places in a short amount of time, so don't expect a relaxing vacation...you also spend A LOT of time on the bus traveling to each place, so be prepared for long days that way..(sometimes up to 8 or 9 hours a day on the bus)...as long as you're aware and prepared for this kind of a tour, I think you will really enjoy it.

Just wondering, when does the tour start ? I heard about being a fast-paced tour. How fast is it ?
Also. how is the location to city centre ? Is it far from where we staying ? And also i heard we can have our own free time at nite. What time does contiki pick up from the city? thanks |

Hello everyone.... I'm going on the Ultimate European + Egypt tour in May 2010. I've been reading plenty of threads and discussions about the trip. I was hoping to pick your brain a bit about the trip..
1. Do you recommend I bring a laptop? How often will I have to carry it with me?? Is it safe at the hostel or hotel? 2. How much spending cash did you take? And how much spending did you actually do? 3. Does everyone have to drink?? I don't really drink that much...just here and there...so I'm hoping I don't come off as anti-social or boring. haha! I'm actually still just as much fun! 4. How much were you allowed to take? A suitcase and a bagback? And how often did you have to carry all items around? 5. What did you do with the souveniers? Is it true that contiki makes you ship it back by mail before the trip is over?? THANKS!! |
