Hey there. I went on this tour last summer and I loved it.The hotels were actually awesome. They were really pretty and all three had pools. The ones in Mykonos and Ios were right on the beach as well. I would highly recommend it, especially if that is your only concern.

The hotels are GREAT! The only thing that killed me was the fact that is was so damn hot and the air conditioning killed my throat. At least there is air con in all of the hotels. Athens a min from the beach, shopping, and restaurants. Contiki hotel is ON THE WATER and very nice and the one is Ios is breathtaking with very cheap drinks. Don't worry a bit about the hotels.

Tatiana, can you remember if there were laundry facilities at any of the hotels on the GIH tour?

And your enthusiasm for that trip is making me excited for mine!

The hotels were great! However I did spend the 21 days prior in some pretty average Budget Contiki Accommodation so my view could be tainted LOL.

I'm pretty sure there is a laundry service at the hotel in all of the hotels. You have to pay and they do it...I never did it just because I traveled with a plastic bag full of laundry soap...and it worked out nice because you didn't have to worry about someone else doing your stuff...or spending money. Depending on how long your trip is, washing your own clothes is not too bad. Yes...GET PUMPED b/c the GIH is the most incredible experience ever.

You can but some of the places its unofficially done through the cleaners. i.e. you have to trust them with your clothes. Also they try and charge you an absolute mint so don't let them roll you...

Hey there,

I'm thinking about doing this trip in June but I cant drink alcohol (long story). Would I still enjoy this trip or is it pretty much everyone getting drunk the whole time? I fear it might be to tempting!

not to worry, just ask the bartenders to make virgin drinks for u.. shouldn't be a problem, plus w/ the beach, sports and nightlife.. you'll have a blast minus the alcohol..

I have already checked out the "where you stay" links on the Contikipedia pages- thanks MattyV!

The hotels look pretty good! I'm already dreaming of getting the chocolate facial and hot stone massage when we stay at the FarOut in Ios!

I see there's nothing listed for Mykonos- are they still figuring it out for the season?
For anyone who's just went or has booked, what hotels are they using? I just like to know these things. Yes- I'm very nosy!

Just bumping this back up, hoping for some new info, or any info really. Wink

I just called Contiki and asked them what hotel they are using, and their response was that they still use the same resort on Mykonos, but no longer offer it seperately. Huh?! Is this really true?

Anyone who's going in the next little while who has rec'd your documents, I'd love to know what hotel it says.

Please & Thank-You

According to the itinerary, it's the Hotel Nikolas. I think it looks pretty cute personally. Gorgeous views.
Cool
