Hi,

I was hoping somebody could offer some advise on the best way to get to Hopfgarten.

How long does it take using the Contiki tour bus??

Is it easier to fly there?? or go by train??

I'm trying to weigh up - cost vs travel time.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Dina

Hi Dina,
I'm planning this trip and will more than likely go their direct instead of the bus. A friend who lives there said
"Hopfgarten is actually really easy to get to - just fly into munich, salzburg or innsbruck and it's a 1-1.5 hour drive or slightly longer train trip."

Google Maps reports that its a 14hr drive! The contiki article also states that the bus leaves @ 7pm from the Royal National. I can't sleep on buses so it makes sense for me to fly.

Hi there

The bus from london takes around 21 hours!!! but there is no weight restriction on your board bag - which is gr8 - flying with a boardbag costs way more ( I fley to Gremany 2 years ago and the boardbag cos more than me!! )
There is a train station in Hopfgarten and it is only a 15 min walk or grab a taxi.
Hope that helps
Jo
PS C you there on the 24th Jan!!!!
