Hello! Well I have a friend who went skiing in austria for a week and she said that was plenty. But I have never been before so don't know personally. I'm actually flying to rome after the ski tour to do the italian expresso. Have you been on a contiki tour before?

hi,well..accordig to your friend, a week would be enough to enjoy. but i'm considering two weeks tour and going one day trip to Salzburg or Innsbruck as well. still haven't decided yet. i've been to australia with contiki on July. it was wicked awesome!! another reason that i want to go austria is to meet my friends that i met last tour.
anyway, thanks. we might see each other in this winter. Big Grin

Hey.Im ben from Brisbane. Im going to be doing the 2 weeks in austria from the 2nd too. I was there in febuary this year, where i also did 2 weeks. In my opinion one week isn't enough. However, it depends how good of a boarder or skier you are. If you are a beginner two weeks is perfect because by the second week you can really start exploring the mountains. They are massive. The contiki team at hopfgarten are really good, everything is catered for you. hey sarah, we also did what you are doing with the winter wanderer before the ski austria tour. The winter wanderer is a heap of fun and just make sure you bring heaps of spending money because it goes quickly.

Hey Ben, really glad you have been before and recommend it! I've never been skiing/snowboarding before so thought I would try a week to begin with, plus as you probably read I am doing the italian expresso afterwards. I still don't know whether to do skiing or snowboarding?! Is anyone taking the coach from London and going to be in London for New Years Eve?

Hey Emma.Don't get me a wrong a week will still be fantastic hey. If you cant choose whether to snow board or ski you can chop and change once you've started. Give one a go on the first day if you can't pick it up go to the other one. So thats pretty good i guess. That italion expresso should be good fun, italy is a really interesting place with plenty to see. We are taking the coach from london unfortunately. Its going to be messy 14 hours trip after new years night. hahaha.

Wow 14 hours! At least we have until 7pm to recover .. hopefully that will be long enough! I'm not sure where to stay on new years eve..i was considering the hotel the coach leaves from as it is pretty cheap, i live 5 hours away from london so could come up on new years day but thought I would spend new years in london for a change. How many people are you travelling with Ben?

Yer it is a long bus ride, depending on the stops you arrive mid afternoon on saturday. Plenty of time to sleep.im travelling with one mate. If youa re looking for a cheaper alternate to the hotel try the generator hostel or even clink hostel. They are both a 5 minute walk from the hotel where the contiki bus leaves. It is really easy to find the place from either of these hostels. However, for conveniance the hotel is probably the way to go. we booked the clink hostel.
