HiSmiler
I'm planning to go on my first Contiki tour at the beginning of next year around the states and I am not sure how much I should set aside for other expenses during the trip. I know lots of things are payed for, but I also know that there are still lots of expenses that are not included.

Can anyone help me out with a rough estimate for a spending allowance? I am looking to do a 2 week trip in the US.

Also if anyone could recommend a tour would for me that would be great because I haven't made my mind up yet.

Thanks so much.

it really depends on what you wanna do, and how much you like to spend.
i over budget, and i have worked out i'll have about $125 us a day.
I just worked out when my holiday was booked, and figured out how much money i can save till then and went awesome that'll be spending money and tours money. Sorry its not much help. Karlie.

I know you haven't made up your mind as to which tour yet but, when you do figure it out, you can get a list of the optionals from the tour summary and figure out how much they will cost you.

On top of that, I would allow about $US100 per day to pay for extra lunches/dinners and souvenious. If you are a big partier/drinker you might want to allow more.

If you're Australian - the Aussie dollar is doing quite well at the moment so I would book and pre-pay any other accommodation you might need and any day tours you might want to do too. If you secure them at today's rate, they can't charge you anymore when you get there!
